Now where to start….
Posted by Breanne on October 26, 2011 at 3:38 pmI just bought a membership for the first time, I gather you should follow the videos in order, but for how long? Should you attempt some of the beginner moves to help gain strength, I'm just a little lost.
Any feedback would be awesome!

Hi breanne :). It depends on ur level of fitness and strength… Personally I worked on strength for a few weeks and then worked through beginner moves in order. Do you do anythig apart from pole? X

I think you can tailor the lessons to your personal needs so you can start where you are at personally. So if you've never done pole I think starting with the strength training moves and basic spins and transitions are good, and move up. If you have experience then I think you can look at the moves in the section for your level and decide which ones are achievable for you. I love that the lessons are structured so anyone can start them at any time!

Personally, I mix strength, flexibility and dancing. I would get rather bored otherwise! Mostly what I want is to dance, so I start off with about 30 minutes of that. I move into tough moves that I want to practice (such as spins I haven't quite perfected, getting myself used to being up on the pole, etc.), and then do strength training with my weights and stuff, and then I end with stretching! And that's a full day's workout for me.
You can always vary it, though. I mean, if I'm just not feelin' the dancing, then I'll move right along into the more "workout" like stuff, weights and things, and just do a shorter day, or if I'm sore, then I'll focus more on lighter dancing, less harder moves, a lot less weights and more flexibility. And a really nice, long, hot shower. 🙂

I'm silly, I watched the intro video, but never scrolled down to find the conditioning videos lol!!! I just saw beginner and went directly there.
Thank you for your replies! I finally bit the bullet and hopefully sometime I'll be a pole dancing vixen too!
