    Hi!
I’m advanced level at a pole fitness gym in Brisbane, but am finding that there isn’t enough “prep” in building up strength before moving up the levels. Studio veena appeals to me because of the fitness exercises packaged as part of the deal. How is everyone finding it? Is this your sole pole thing or do you attend classes? I intend to keep up the pole course I attend at the moment and use this to help! We’ve just started inverts and in finding getting into the caterpillar hard. Even broke my toe doing it!

    Hi,

I've mostly learned online with Veena's lessons and they help me become prepared for class when I attend. U know how it feels to have done your homework in school and practice a skill before going to class? That's how it feels to me.  Makes me more confident and ready!

Viki, It sounds like you would benefit from the lessons. I know the structure (having everything in order) and focus on building up to moves is what the users really seem to love. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I went to a studio for awhile + had Veena’s lessons. For me, Veena’s lessons were a great supplement to my studio lessons because they allowed me to work on what I learned in the studio with Veena’s lessons guidance (because sometimes by the time I got home, I wouldn’t remember how to get into a move that I learned in the studio). Also alot of times Veena’s lessons showed me ways to get &/or out of a move that wasn’t shown to me in studio classes, which I found really helpful.

In the past & for the last several months however, I have also been solely a SV student & that has been great as well because her lessons are through & detailed enough where you will progress if just learning from her lessons alone & not going to a studio. It’s all a matter of preference & learning style really…some do well doing studio + Veena’s lessons, while others do well just taking Veena’s lessons. You’ll just have to explore until you figure out the best learning outlet for you. Happy poling!

I find I benefit more from Vs lessons over classes. Use your judgement. If you feel the classes are moving too fast based on your strength, tell them! I have refused to do a move a teacher wanted me to try, knowing I wasn’t ready.

    Thank you everyone!
I LOVE pole, and I must say its been so frustrating going to class, knowing you’re not ready but pushing yourself anyway because the routine required it. I definitely think Studio Veena has a superior arrangement of lessons…really cost effective too! I also noticed that here it advises to never use momentum for inverts, whereas we have been told to swing upwards into it. Can’t wait to try SV!
