OK, so back in August, I was practicing a pole split and was really excited at my progress. I asked one of my classmates to take a picture for me, and while I was holding the pose, suddenly I heard what sounded like fabric ripping and searing pain in the back of my leg! I thought for sure I had ripped a muscle, but nothing ever discolored or mis-shaped/swelled. I could still walk, but it definitely felt like a strain or pull.

So here I am 3 months later, and I'm up at 3 am because the pain is keeping me up at night. I can't lie on that side of my body, I can't sit for extended periods (car trips are brutal!), and I have lost all range of motion in that leg. I haven't gone to a Dr because I just hoped it would heal, thinking it was muscular.

Some days its not bad at all, but other days it brings tears to my eyes.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I really think you should go to the doctor. No one else is going to have better answers for you. If the pain is keeping you up at night then clearly it’s affecting your quality of life. Time will help heal but you may need physical therapy and a doctor can prescribe a muscle relaxant to help you sleep and heal faster. I hope all turns out well!

Yeah, you HAVE TO go to a doctor.

I know I should… I've been really stubborn and hopeful at the same time.

I promise I'll make the appointment tomorrow (since they're closed on Sundays!).

    Thanks for the <3
