Going to be putting the Lil Mynx on hard surface in a few days from carpet.  Do you really need that pad thing?

As long as you have the little rubber feet you should be fine.  If you don't have the rubber feet they can be bought at Lowes or Home Depot

I use mine with one, but there's an exercise studio near my house that uses Lil Mynx poles without the pads on their hardwood flooring. I think it's just a little extra stability and more protection from your floor getting scratched, not an absolute necessity.

Funny, the pad is supposed to be for smooth surfaces, and the feet are supposed to be for carpet, but I found it to be the opposite. Ended up removing the pad because it kept slipping on the hardwood. As long as the pole is adjusted correctly, you should be fine without it : )
