Photo shoot on spin mode… help?
Hey everyone, I have a friend who is a photography major and she's doing her final project on the human form, and asked me if she could shoot me doing some pole poses and stuff in exchange for prints. Of course I agreed, and she told me only to do poses I can hold for a while because she's using film and will a while need to set up a shot? (lol, I have no idea how that stuff works)
Problem is I lost all my locking pins for my pole! I have new ones on the way, but they won't be here for a while and I was wondering if I could slightly overtighten the pole, just for one session, so it won't spin very freely and she can get her shots. Does anyone know if that will damage my ceiling/pole? Or any suggestions for another temporary fix, or at least advice on how to not spin so much? lol.
I have a Platinum Stages one piece pole. Thank you guys for any advice.
(And while we're here… any tricks you'd suggest that will lend well to the theme? I'm trying to think of ones that will work best for her.)

I wouldn’t over tighten any pole. You can go to the hardware store and buy some “pins” to keep the pole in place. The store pins didn’t fit tight but kept the pole from spinning!

Hmm, ok. That was my first thought but I since the PS pins have little holes in them, I thought maybe there was some extra mechanism in there to lock and it wouldn't work. I'll stop by and see if I can't find ones that look the right size. It doesn't need to be perfect, just for this one session. Thanks!

That’s what we did for my ps stage when the pins didn’t fit, worked in a pinch.

You may also want to have a friend there with you to help out with things. Like if something is in the way, hair needs to be fixed, top needs to be adjusted, pole needs to be slightly turned – Just as an extra pair of eyes. Good luck with the shoot – you will have a great time :o) Start with your harder tricks/poses first, that way you aren't totally exhausted by the end. I would also write down a list of things you want to be taken, that way you don't forget when you get there! xoxo

Thanks for the tips PoleFitMom! I'll have my sister here, maybe she can help lol.
Also, I bought a couple packs of screws from Home Depot in various sizes… one of them actually fits PERFECT, so now I think I'll go and buy another pack as backup and jus thave an endless supply of them lol. They're 10-32 screws, 1" long, in case anyone else searches this in the future.
