    Hello Veeners!

I am researching a new pole for my new pole room. Yesterday my new flooring was delivered and the carpet and tack ripped out… my space is coming along! Flooring install next Friday.

Now for the important stuff… POLES!

I want a permanent spinning pole that is secured into ceiling and floor. I was looking at PS and am wondering how it is installed. I get that things are attached to the ceiling and floor… but I want technical details. Also once the pole hardware is installed can I switch out the pole from SS to Brass without unsecuring the mounting hardware. I want more than one pole finish to choose from but due to the small room size only can fit one pole. I can not tell by the website photos what the mechanics are. I also want technical details to know if my home supports the requirements of this device.

I have an Xpole Xpert. I have an Xstage lite. I love my X's. I am looking into other options for a permanent mount that is secured to both floor and ceiling.

I appreciate all feedback and comment regarding permanent mount poles, I would like to know for those of you that have the single piece platinum stage permanent spinning pole, how has it worked out for you? How was the install?

I have emailed PS also but this forum is a wealth of information and I would love the hear feedback while I consider this option.

    Thank you!!!

The permanent spinning poles are the best. U made a good choice.

As far as installation, it is farely simple. However, u have to make sure your measurements are exact, even down to 1/8 of an inch. Make it as exact as possible. Make sure your measurment is leveled. There is one bolt that goes thru the bottom plate, and you only need 2 for the top. I have concrete ceilings, so i had to use a different drill, but if you are just going into a wood beam, its really easy. Just drill the screws in.

The poles are permanent. You cant switch them out. Once it is in, its in. If u did need to switch them, u would have to remove the top plate.

    Hope that helps!

Also, i suggest glueing down the bottom base…sometimes when your floor settles, it wont be as tight, so the bottom plate might rotate. Its bolted in so it wont come out, but it might rotate during a spin or something, so just glue it when u bolt it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

an easy way to get what you want would be to order a 1-piece removeable pole, and screw through the base and the top plate to secure them. then the main pole itself has the same screw-type tightening, and you could easily switch the pole itself out with a brass one (although the plates would be permanently mounted).

Hi LizzyLiz810, Thank you so much for the suggestions! I am getting the floor installed on Friday and will be vinyl over a concrete foundation. That will alter my current measurement so I am waiting for the install before I do the final measurements. Great idea re the glue as well. I *love* hearing I made a great choice too! ; )

Hi Amy, Thank you for the suggestions also. Hadn't thought about that route… but I love it! That would be perfect for me to change out the main pole piece and have anchored top and bottom. Do you happen to know if the PS one piece removeable top and bottom pieces fit both the 2 inch and 1.75? That would be a win/win/win if I could put different diameters and finishes in the same mounts.

not sure, but i'm positive a quick call to PS would clear that up for you =)

PS does make vaulted ceiling mounts, so you don't even need a ceiling plate if you were to get the removable one piece. Just drill the ceiling mount up like you would a lilmynx one (I'm assuming).

I'd be hesitant to drill the removable base plates since they are plastic. They might crack, and if you drill a hole, the metallic paint might start peeling off the base.

I called Platinum Stages and they suggested the One Piece Super Pole with the Vaulted Ceiling Adapter. They told me that the Vaulted Ceiling Adapter can be used on a flat ceiling and can be secured to a joist that is the size of my joist. Then I can change out the pole piece to other poles. Both sizes of their poles will fit into the Ceiling Adapter.

This will not be secured to the floor but will allow me the flexibility I am looking for to change pole finishes and diameters.

Sensualscimitar… have you received your PS product yet? Are you liking it so far?

hi jehann, i have that exact same pole you are looking at (one piece superpole w vaulted ceiling adapter), and it's great.  i don't see why you would want to bolt it to the floor, it's very secure.  i never have to adjust it, either, it's totally maintenance free (unlike x poles).  at some point i might want to get a brass pole and be able to switch them. 🙂

Hi Tarah! Thank you so much for your reply. I was considering bolt to the floor before I knew about the superpole option and that a bottom anchor wasn't needed.

My joist is two inches across… what is the size of your joist?

I love the concept of no maintenance and also want something where I can switch out the pole diameter and finish as desired. : ) I want to start out with a brass and the eventually get the steel.

hey jehanne, i have vaulted wood ceilings, so my mount could be placed anywhere.  but because the boards are pretty thin, we cut a small square of wood to put between the mount and the ceiling boards, because the screws are big.  i would just call PS and ask them how big the joist has to be.  i think if two of the screws (out of four) are in the joist, you're all set, but not completely sure.  always best to call and ask when in doubt.  that's funny – i have the SS but have been considering getting a brass eventually.  good luck!!  🙂

You only need 2 screws for the ceiling mount.

What about the semi permanent pole?

yes, only two screws are needed – you would place the square mount diagonally on the joist 🙂

@lizzy – what is the semi-permanent, is that a different mount for flat ceilings?

Im really not sure, but its not bolted into the floor, and its one piece….all u have to do is screw it into the large bolt that it comes with (that is attached to your beam.) Ive tried them at quite a few studios, and it was good, and really easy to put up and down.
