These are great shoes to get started with!!! the platform isn’t super huge, they are very cozy because they are padded – seriously of all the shoes I own – these are still the best! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Yes they are great! I got my first pair in may and I love them. They are 6" and im really not used to walking in heels at all. They were really tight at first but it took me only like 3 classes wearing them to break them in and get them comfortable. I was really suprised how stable I was on them. Love them. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Congrats!

On a related note, do you half-size ladies usually go up a half step or down a half step in shoe size? 7.5 tends to be comfy for me, so I went with the 7. I’ve had the shoes about a year, and even after wearing them with socks, warming them up, and really trying to break them in, I’m still not happy with the fit. I wish I’d gone with the 8. Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks guys, I’m really happy with them. The plastic still feels tight but I know it’s only because I haven’t worn them yet. I cannot WAIT to get back onto my pole and try them out for real https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I love the little diamanté ring on the heel too, that’s what sold me when I was choosing the style.

Poledanceromance, my shoe size changes constantly depending on the style of shoe. In runners (trainers for the US Veeners https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) I’m a size 5 but in heels sometimes I’m a 4 and the 5 would be WAY too big. When I was buying my pleasers the retailer did say that I should always go for one size bigger than what I normally would in heels. Which would make it a five and a half but I had a gut feeling that would be too big. So I went with the 4 and a half and there is plenty of room for my foot, my toes aren’t hanging off the end or anything like I read here before! My only issue atm is the tightness of them but I am 100% sure it’s just a matter of wearing them!

I’m so impressed with how sturdy they are. I may just buy some non-pole shoes from them too! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif

ummm usually pleasers don’t come in half sizes????

in pleasers I always go up to 8 from my 7.5 in ellies I have gone either way but have had to stretch the 7’s out a bit.

maybe UK and US sizes differ?

mine are 37’s. Dunno what it is in the US

EDIT: Yup that’s it. Taken from website:
"Mid platform shoes by Pleaser shoes USA. Style Allure-608. Colour Clear with a black heel. Available sizes USA 5/ UK 2.5 to US 13/ UK 10.5."

I would say go down a size since the plastic stretches so much

Its not just the plastic. I’ve been trying to break them in for the past year. I can get the plastic loosened up, it’s that my toes hang over the front making it difficult to, say, slide up to a forearm stand, or roll over the toes to stand up all strippery. Quite the pita. I wish I knew someone who had a pair of 8s I could try and see if they’re comfy. I don’t want them flying off either. The annoying thing about being a real half size is that sometimes I’ll find brands of shoes where the 7 is painfully tight but the 8 is dangerously large. Maybe part of the problem is the style of shoe. I think they’re the KISS model, but the sole of the shoe is kind of tapered in so the small surface area combined with my toes hanging off the front makes me feel like I’m going to topple over. And I’m a stiletto lover. I’m usually very comfortable even in pencil-point heels. But I can’t get confident in this one pair. I have a non-platform pair of electric blue patent leather stilettos I wore for my college graduation, but they’re such nice dress shoes that i really don’t want to wreck them.

    WUHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
Congrats on getting your shoes!!! Im glad you went with your instinct! Cause I went with my instinct and I was right too!
Im a size 5 or 6 UK depending on the shoe so I bought a size 5 and a half UK (US Size 8 according to the guide on the Pleaser shoe box) and they’re perfect for me! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

The black ones I have are Juliet-209 and the silver ones I have are Captiva-609. The black ones dont seem to be listed on the site anymore! The silver ones were the ones I told you that they didnt have listed but she ordered them for me from Pleaser USA!

OH!!!!!!! One thing I meant to tell you but TOTALLY forgot! Be careful of the rhinestones on your shoes!! There are rhinestones on the back of the heels of my silver shoes and some of them fell off! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Luckily I found them again in my pole room and I super glued them on again! If they do fall off and you have to glue them back on be careful with the super glue, only put a tiny bit on cause I put too much on one of the rhinestones and it dulled the shine and leaked a little onto the heel!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Is there a big difference between 6" and 7 1/2" heels? I have only had 6" and am quite comfortable in them but never tried any higher then that. I really wanted the pleasers with the gun heels but they only come in 7 1/2" And I was just wondering if they are awfully heavy and if I should buy them or not? Can’t decide :S Should I or am I just going to kill myself walking in them?

    Hey Eva,

I know that Veena has just danced in 8 inch heels so she’s the woman to talk to about these. If you do get them I’d LOVE to see a pic!!

While I love the way they look I steer away from shoes with rhinestones for pole work, they tend to come off and can scratch the pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I didn’t find it much harder to walk in 8 inch heels then the 6 inchers but I’m VERY comfortable in the 6 inchers. I go out and dance all night in them. But I also think this is an area where different people have different experiences. I just stay away from shoes with a rolled toe (or rocker toe) as I roll my foot as it is and those will end up with me on the ground unless I think "walk like a man" lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

PDR, I have size 8 Pleaser sandals–I’ll bring ’em along! I have really wide feet, so I usually take an 8.5 in regular shoes, but I find the 8 in sandals quite comfortable. I do take a 9 in the boots due to calf size issues, and my new Purple Pleaser Bordellos are a 9 too. The 8 felt a bit more snug compared to the sandals. I hope this helps!
