Pls remember
Just this Memorial Day my step daughter's step sister on the other side was driving home at 1 am on a 2 lane highway ( she's 20 ), alcohol not involved. It has misted and she lost traction and slid into the slow lane side gaurd rail and over corrected and spun sideways into the opposite side of traffic. For what ever reason she called her mom on her cell and told her she'd been in an accident. Then the last thing she heard was her telling her there was a car coming and it T-Boned her. They had to use the jaws of life to free her but it was already too late. I never met her but feel the sadness and want to tell others when teaching about driving safety to remember to get out of the car when your car is stuck on the road as soon as possible before using the phone. , I've also heard of people staying in their car when they are stuck on railroad tracks. I think people get shocked and forget to move. Teach your young ones and train yourself. I just had a mommy daughter date with my only.

How sad; I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I remember watching a video on accidents in driver's ed that included a re-enactment of a true story where a lady stopped on some train tracks (with her two kids in the back seat,) and was totally blocked by cars and couldn't move when a train began coming down the tracks toward them. All I could think the whole time was 'why didn't she just get herself and her kids out of the car instead of sitting there honking her horn trying to get people to move?' Because she didn't take just a moment to calm herself and get them all out of the car, all three of them died.
It's very hard in situations like that to not panic, but try to stay calm; get yourself out of the car and to a safe area. Be safe, everyone.
