Pokemon Pole Move: The Gemini
Posted by beaniegoesnuts on June 4, 2012 at 1:04 amHi Veenas! Its a miserable, wet winter day here in Melbourne and I feel like I need a pole game to cheer me up. Anyhoo, so i reckon poles moves are like Pokemon- they start off pretty, cute and cuddly and then they evolve into bad-a** mo fos that can really kick your ass.
So, I thought, why not take 'the Gemini'. Its a basic pole move and see how many evolutions/ variations it can become!
I'll start off with 2 examples
1. Gemini–> Butterfly –> Extended butterfly
2. Gemini –> Pike –> Jade Splits!
I'd love to see how many combos we can come up with!

Ahhhh!!! So fun, my mind is blown! We should do it with all moves!
Gemini –> Cupid –> Extended Butterfly
Gemini –> Leg switch to scorpio –> Allegra –> Ayesha (?)
Gemini –> Cradle –> Superman
-
hmm yeah there has to be something with the cupid/star, shooting star and side V!
I'll say
Gemini –> Side V –> Shooting Star
-
lillybilly- how do you go from gemini to cradle?! why cant i picture this in my mind?
Gemini –> Figurehead –> invert –> repeat= monkey climb 😀
-
Hmm, maybe i should start a totally new topic for all the pokemon moves.
the easy moves that turn into killers lol
-
I use moneky climbs for strength building. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif What are pokemon moves…?
-
Put the hand of the leg that is on the pole below your body, the other one above you, streighten your legs – cradle 🙂
-
LillyBilly, I think most of us know that as side V. I could not figure how you got into cradle either!
Cradle to me is this:
-
haha easy moves that turn into killers…I nominate the side V to superman. it's just too awkward for me! and not very enticing to practice if it goes wrong. =P dang sticky legs!

@chemgoddess1 Oh, sorry – Amy called this move "cradle" in one of her posts, so I assumed it's a standard name 🙂 I looked at Veena's lessons:
https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4cd2ab43-f938-48c5-a66b-5a980ac37250
But I was thinking about this (slightly different) variation:
http://aerialamy.com/blog/2012/05/10/thursday-tricks-superman-to-cradle/
and then the transition from Dekota's vid (4:35):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNe09dIkPXk
Anyway – you could go to cradle from side V easily (same hold, different leg position), but it doesn't make much sense to move to superman from the fetus position in the images you posted…
-
Side V is one leg in front of the pole and one leg behind so I still do not know how you would get from cradle to side V easily. (I can't see any vids while I am at work so if you showed something in your posts that showed this I appologize).
-
Side V has one leg on each side of the pole. Cradle (in tuck or straddle position) has both legs on the same side of the pole–so you wouldn't be able ot get into a side V from a cradle unless you thread one leg through (like Dakota Fox does in the vid posted).
I like gemini –> shooting star –> marley –> inverted crucifix –> drop –> shoulder dismount.
-
🙂 Look at the move Amy calls cradle in her vid when you get the chance, it will make perfect sense 😉
-
Right, she's doing a cradle V. If you look closely you'll see that both legs are on the same side of the pole when she gets to the move she refers to as the cradle. She goes gemini – side V – superman – figurehead – cradle – butterfly.

Bah!
I'm having hard time with the English and tricks names. I don't understand what we are talking about any more! I give up LOL! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
