PoleDivas is now in its 5th year. We accept entries to our 10 heats from across Great Britain, Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland too.
The competition is *mostly* the same as 2009… although some little rules tweaks which we are sure everyone will really appreciate!

has anyone entered yet and if so can they tell me what the ‘tweaks’ are. Last year i was very disappointed with the limits imposed in the amateur category – i felt they limited newcomers unfairly and that there was a massive jump between what was expected at amateur and advanced. Deciding whether to buy tickets this year!

Yes there is a big jump between the levels.
The competition is to find the best of the best. But also have a section open to the amateurs to have a first experience of a competition. -
It must be so difficult to decide where the cut off should be- there are just so many different skills in pole and nowadays there is such a wide range of talent. Glad i don’t have your job!! Good luck with the comp this year!

We had to make a specific rule for the amateur level that wasn’t wishy-washy, or that people could work around. We had so many people doing stuff like knee holds, rocket man, yogini, in 2008, which we didn’t really think were amateur moves! -

I am glad to see that others are taking this into account. It irks me to no end that so many competitions have "amateurs" that are doing all of the same moves as the higher levels. -

We also have an Advanced Amateur section, which is for awesome students who don’t want to compete against their own instructor. We want to see THE BEST students in this section! -

i was wondering… would a reverse grab/ pretzel spin be classed as a double or single spin? Same question for any reverse grab variation.
Also, it says 1/3 of spins should be used with the non dominant, so minimum spins is 6 (3 single, 2 double, 1 triple) so only 2 of these would be needed to be left handed? (More if I did more spins)
Thank you!! x
