Will do! I have been wanting to check them out. I havebeen to te studio and met Jackie, just never took a class. I'm closer to Ego Fitness. I couldn't afford classes until recently..still tryin to watch it..and I have to spend another $50 on my pole to put it back up. I think I am going ot try to go to Verticality ofr Josiah's workshop and pole jam..It's around the middle of April.  Look into it and let me know if you want to go. It's be a great time to meet up!

I've been to Ego Fitness too. I did their Groupon deal for $1/class. I ended up not using 5 of them (I got 15). I didn't like their style as much. Much more fitness oriented and less dance. I also didn't like that the routines they taught went by steps like in cheerleading (5,6,7, 8, etc). I've been wanting to try Verticality too as I've never been there. I have heard good things from some of the level 6 girls at PLT.

I spend way too much money on this stuff. But I love it so much!

I too spend too much money on pole. Can’t wait to try out the Houston studios!

Haha yeah it's costly no matter what. I don't think I would enjoy it as much if I didn't have mine at home..but I know I am not progressing like I could with classes.  I know what you mean about Ego..they group their major pole stuff..so really the classes are like "a taste", and the routines take a while to perfect. Please come to the pole jam atleast it should be fun! My friend said it's a nice studio.

Is this the Badazz Pole Jam on Saturday, April 14th from 5 – 7 PM? I don't want to sign up for the wrong one. Plus, you save $5 by registering before the end of the month. Yay for saving money while spending money.

I hope I'm "good enough" to go. I mean, I just started inverting (and not very well) a few weeks ago. Makes me a little nervous. I know by now how supportive the pole community is, but I don't want to feel way way inexperienced for what they're doing.

Oh I understand that! I think he has a flexibility one..I won't take his pole workshop because I haven't poled in 4 months so I wouldn't get much out of it..but I think he does a floor/flex one. I'll double check.

That's the workshops on Friday, right? Not the jam on Saturday? I'll do whichever one you want to try.

Hi! I’m a Brass Ovaries Studio (Austin) student, but have many pole buddies in the Hou/Gal area. I’ve met & seen Jackie perform, but haven’t tried the studio yet. My friend April teaches pole fit at Verticality. It’s fairly new so not sure what kind of intermediate/adv classes they have, but heard good about beginner levels. Also, there is SassyKat pole inside Transform Me fitness/Body by Francis (in Webster area?) I know an awesome lady named Martha who teaches there. Kara’s pole studio in Seabrook/baycliff area (located upstairs from Xtacy Boutique) has a variety of classes & offers Lyra (hoop) She is a badass on that pole & her students advance & get strong pretty quickly. Also, brand new studio Zensual Dance opening in fitness “studio 85” in Galveston this month. My friend Gina is co-owner & will instruct there. She’s a wonderful person & gave me my first pole lesson ever, one year ago (a private at her house) Lots of options! But BY ALL MEANS, come to Austin at least once, to Brass Ovaries Pole Dancing Studio. Best in Texas, imo. It is where my friends train & are instructors. An allstar lineup, & please Google them: Brynn Route (Miss Texas Pole Star ((MTPS)) Ultimate Champion 2011) Lindsey Dement (MTPS Miss Fitness Champ 2011) Ariel Jacobs (ALETHEA AUSTIN’s amazing little sister) Sarah Marsh “Sarah Sparkles” (MTPS ultimate champion runner up 2010) Miss Sophie, a prominent Pole, Aerial Hoop & Burlesque performer at Austin Events & more. Owned by badass Miss Natasha. Pantera Blacksmith, Natasha Wang, Badazz, Felix Cane & Alethea, visit & teach here whenever in town. Alethea Austin & Cleo the Hurricane from Bobbi’s in Australia are teaching workshops in April at Brass Ovaries also 🙂 Hope to run into you ladies in Houston some time!!!

Alethea’a offering 2 workshops & Cleo also has 2. They fill up Far in advance though. Exact dates & details on the website http://www.Brass-Ovaries.com or (512) 477-POLE (-7653)
Groupon deals are always great to save $ on pole. I’m fortunate to have taken advantage of a year membership at Brass Ovaries. For $83 a month I can take Unlimited classes. & I mean unlimited! In one week I sometimes hit 4 to 9 classes. Pole tricks level classes 1 thru 5, pole choreography, sexy flow, flexibility & stretching, high heel fitness (pole chair & floorwork in heels), polefit, aerial hoop, open hoop or pole practices (open pole is only $10 an hour for drop ins or to Pre register for a spot) I’m sure at $83 a month, I sometimes end up taking classes for $2 a pop! 🙂
