    Hiya everyone,

I was wondering how and where I could find out about upcoming competitons/showcases (but showcases tend to be less frequent).

See I really want to enter another competition (Early November at the earliest), and I know you have to apply months in advance.  I usually only find out about them a week or a month beforehand and of course by then it's too late.

It's also hard because I don't go to any pole studio classes (I doubt that the teacher of the classes I was taking would even know about a lot of them).

I am in the UK at an intermediate/advanced amateur level.  Please post because I have like 5 routine ideas I'm dying dying dying to do.  (And no it's not fun doing it in my living room with only one pole… if I had the space it would be! Plus I like performing in front of people!).

Yes this is one of my goals/resolutions.

    🙂

Quite a few are listed on the Pole Dance Community website, or mostly through Facebook groups (but this obv means having a lot of pole based fb links). I end up always finding out about them too late! I entered Pole Divas in Newcastle in 2010 but would LOVE to compete again in a few months too 🙂

Eventhough you dont go to a studio, you can still sign up for thier newsletter.  Im signed up for all the major ones in my area so I can get info of whats coming into town etc.  Also one of the studios always list submission due dates for upcoming comps.

Best bet is to google search pole comps. There are some big annual ones so once u know their websites u can keep checking for updates or sign up to their mailing lists. UKAPP will be back in 2013. Search UKAPP and u’ll find some links to other comps. The PDC website is regularly updated so is a good resource too. aside from that, search for large studios and keep an eye out on their fb pages. It really will depend on the area u are in tho and u may have to travel.

If you are friends with pole studios on fb it helps because a lot of studios run competitions and also when the studio owner goes to judge a competition it shows up on my events page too. That’s how I find out about some competitions. Off the top of my head the following comps are run once a year (most usually around summer time) – UKAPP, northern pole princess, Emma jade competition, JLN pole artistes….. Most of these are based in the north though 😉 but your best bet is google (spinny tbags usually list comps nationwide) and friend lots of uk pole studios 🙂

I was just wondering this myself, but I live in in the US, any one know of any good sources to find out about competitions here?   I usually just google.

Im signed up with Pole Pressure, Chic Physique, Xpose Fitness newsletters. Pole Pressure always annouces when a competition is up coming and when submissions are due.

If youre in the the states, also look out for Pole Dance America Competitions.  Moses goal is to have a state competition for every state by the end of 2013.
