    Hey Veeners!!
So as part of my Christmas gift, my boyfriend bought me PoleSpin magazine and said if I liked it, then he was going to buy me a subscription. I have flipped through another pole dance magazine, Vertical I think is the name, but didn't really sit and read it through.

Kind of hard to make a decision based on a single issue, but I don't think PoleSpin is really for me… I found the articles to have some grammatical and spelling errors, and some incorrect medical information (as a physician, this kind of thing stands out to me!).  I guess the writing of the articles just wasn't what I expected it would be. And there wasn't really anything on specific tricks or tips or anything like that – just a lot of "inspirational" type stories.  Maybe I had different thoughts on what a pole dance magazine would be – and that's fine! I'm sure that PoleSpin is really the perfect magazine for some people (I'm not trying to put it down at all!), but I just don't think it's that appealing to me.

My question to you, is what pole magazines have you read and what did you think of them? What do you think of Vertical? Any input would be helpful!! Thanks! 🙂

I bought 'Pole Spin'…once. I thought it was horribly written/edited and like you, I didn't get info or knowledge from it since it was just 'fluff'. Bummer, huh? I haven't seen any other pole magazines.

If given the choice between PoleSpin and Vertical I would choose Vertical.  I have seen the same things that you all have seen in PoleSpin and I also have some issues with the person behind the magazine.  That being said, I have the premier issue of Vertical in my hand.  THis is the table of contents:

    Publishers Letter

    Editors Note

Inspration: Dark Flight (basically artistic photos)

    Vertical Men: Suwasit

    Studio Star: Pole Star Miami

    Beauty: Morning Make Up Call

    Cover Stoty: Alethea

Psyche: Strong is sexy, Poling for Charity, Sensual Sport/Sexual Spectacle

    Pole in Unusual Places

    Nutrition: The anti inflammatory diet

Workout: pole fundamentals: upper body fitness; upper body fitness, the routine; breakdown of a pose: the crescent

    Fashion Peek: simply sexy

    Pole Around the World: Mexico

News: Pole Calendar 2011,; Pole Show LA; Approved XPert Pole Fitness Training

    Fashio

Diary of a Pole Dancer: Marlo Fiskin

    Product Review

    Studio Listings

The whole feel of the magazine is different than PS.  It is heavier paper and I want to say glossier.

There are also a few publications that come out of Europe that are supposed to be pretty good.  Pole2Pole comes to mind (http://www.pole2polemagazine.com/)

Just found a thread that lists a few: https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/4e9467e0-2f58-4980-a9d2-1d130ac37250

I hope this isn't threadkacking, but when i try to go to the site for vertical magazine i get a warning from google saying the site contains "malicious software" that may harm my computer??

Here's the warning page that blocks me from accessing the site:

    http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://www.verticalartandfitness.com/

Am I trying to go to the wrong site? or how do I order this magazine?

Curiously, both the Pole2Pole link that Chem put up, and the Google Safe Browsing link that Jasmin46 put up are giving me 404 error codes.

After some investigation, it seems that the Vertical Art and Fitness website (for the Vertical Magazine) have been infecting people's computers with Trojans, according to Google. Two reported instances within 90 days. It says three of the pages have trojans on them, and four different types. Not quite sure how that works- it's poorly worded.

It's likely that a "third party," such as a hacker, got into the website and placed their own trojans in it.

Google is attempting to protect you, and depending on your operating system, you may have to be careful. A Mac will not allow programs to install without your express permission- I'm not actually sure how Windows 7 works about that… but I'll be finding out soon! *excited*

Anyways, if you browse carefully, and just put the actual URL into your browser, you should get there and be able to order your magazine no problem!

I think I saw on Facebook where Indigo Dance magazine will no longer be published. 🙁 I was thinking about subscribing to that one. I know it’s listed in the thread that Chem linked.

I've written a few articles for Vertical and all bias aside I will say based on quality, content and business practices they are the best in the industry. The grammatical errors and a variety of separate issues in other magazines are really just not up to par. Vertical is offering digital downloads in the new year and updating the site…. Also Jenyne is the current cover girl!

    Hi Everyone,

I Just wanted to jump in here, since there seems to be a lot of questions and concerns regarding the status of Vertical Art & Fitness Magazine.

Vertical will be making a major announcement soon, through press releases, Facebook,  and here on the Studio Veena Blog. We have many exciting changes in the works, including a new and improved website, which will offer a more consistent stream of fresh content in 2013.

For Subscribers looking for the next issue, The Rebirth Issue with Jenyne Butterfly, is printed and will be shipping this coming week as well.

We appreciate your support and compliments! Vertical continues our commitment to be the very best pole publication available. We believe the changes we are making will be of even greater benefit to our readers, and the pole community around the world.

Happy New Year and Happy Poling in 2013!
