A collection of workouts I've been writing to help strengthen for pole (and in general) that you can do at home, usually without weights. I would greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions! Hope it helps 🙂

It looks good, but personally, I didn't know what some of the terminolgy was so I wouldn't be able to do some of the exercises you listed because I don't know what some of them are!

It looks really cool – but I'm in the same boat as Stevesgirl.  I don't know some of the terminolgy and therefore couldn't do some of the exercises either.  Would it be possible to have a space on the site where you have links to videos or even just a written description of each exercise?

All of these moves are easily searchable on google.

I can also search google for workout plans.

She asked for suggestions – if I have to google the moves in order to follow her workouts, I will not follow them.

I appreciate the effort, but I too would not use those images because I don't understand the names! Perhaps in each post you can explain the moves, and then attach the image at the end for easy reference once people know what's going on.

I meant to add– I think you could have a lot of success with those workouts with general fitness people, but for a lot of SVers, poling is our only form of fitness. We are slightly workout illiterate, I think! 😛

I think it's really cool, but I'm also in the camp of being slightly illiterate. I'd need diagrams. 😛

Along those lines…I was in an AFAA group fitness training last week and it was wayyyy out of my realm of normal. People wear TENNIS SHOES to work out? I had no idea. LOL.

I love your workouts Taryn!! It might help if you explained how to do a few of the exercises as I don't know what the names mean or at least I don't think what I am interpreting them as is right

I think those posts would work much better as text posts instead of jpegs (although I'm guessing the point of the jpeg is to be able to print it like an index card for offline reference?). If they were text posts in addition to the jpegs/images then the text could link to the individual moves demonstrated on youtube or whereever. In fact, maybe if the text linked to a youtube playlist of the all the moves and then there was a jpeg under the text link so after people get familiar they can print off the jpeg to stick on their wall, mirror, etc.

I think it's a great blog, just a teeny bit user unfriendly at present since I can't copy and paste the text in the images to search for, and I'm too lazy to remember the names and type them in one by one, but I think the text post + image combo would knock it out of the ballpark.

Thank you, everyone for the comments/suggestions.

Girlunblogged – I really like your idea, and I think I'll try adding text explanations to the bottom of future workouts. Thanks!
