I just started pole at home and my niece is really interested she is 12 but her mom said NO WAY!! She will not let me pole if she is at my house. I told her I don’t get it.

My sis-in-law is a bit like that at times about my neice and nephew, but i’ve made it clear i’m not going to lock the door to the pole room just cos she’s uptight. She disapproved when i got my new boots yet a few weeks later when she decided to lose weight, she came to me to ask if i would teach pole, then, business woman that she is, tried to talk me into opening my own studio.

people like to hold on to traditional and old-fashioned views, but opinions are changing. thankfully.

Yep, my kids can so pole if they want to!

I just really am dying to know WHO is the chick in the footage doing the AMAZING beautiful slow climbs and strength moves as easy as breathing? Whoever she is (and I should probably know?), she’s my new idol.

WOW….that journalist was not being opinionated…LOL…..I think there’s nothing wrong with kids going to pole class with their Moms. The names are a little inappropriate but really, what 5 year old even knows the name of the class anyway? It’s not like the child is signing her and her Mom up for the class online like "Oh here you go Mommy, sexy flexy- now THAT looks like a class I want to take!" LOL. How obsurd people can be. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I think they have the right idea in Europe…here’s a vid of Oona ( of the "Oona K") at a performance …
her YouTube channel had a great vid of the actual gm that she trains in which is full of kids, gymnastics equipment and a pole as part of the set up! anyway , sadly that vid was blocked by YT for the music rights issue so I am posting this one..

hope I did the link right, the YT channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/GYMiOona if you need to find it that way
seems all good to me, looks like the audience is full of parents , too…

IF YOU DO NOT MAKE IT "DIRTY" THEN KIDS DO NOT KNOW IT IS.

I totally agree — "dirty" is in the eye of the beholder. My two and a half year old loves poling. She also loves dancing. One of the dances she made up a while back is her "butterfly dance". You lay on your back and stick your legs in the air. Then you open your legs wide and close them back the way a butterfly opens and closes its wings in the sun.

Someone could watch this and think sexualized thoughts. After all, her legs are in a pretty open leg splay. But that reflects on them, not on her. I’m just jealous of her ab strength!!
