Photobucket is another good photo uploading site… so is flickr.com. Both of these sites can be set to private, but I don’t know if they can be made so that select people can view it.

I actually have photobucket, but I’m not sure if I can set them for friends to look at them either, or if I just have to post links to the photos.

Anyway, an update: Facebook finally reactivated my account, after about a week of me not being able to access it. They said they removed the offending photo content, but none of my pictures have been taken down, so I don’t know if they decided to put it back up after I complained or what. I’m still worried this could happen again, since I have no clue who complained–it was probably a third party, and I can’t control if friends of my friends see my pictures. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep the account, but if I do, I’m thinking of taking the photos down just so I don’t have to go through all this hassle again. Who knows how long it’ll take for me to get back in my account again next time? The same person could just keep reporting my photos, whoever it was.

Be sure you have your photobucket set to private I had several pictures removed from pb because apparantly two people on a pole is against their terms.

Well, two people on a pole is the kind of evil that hasn’t been seen since the Holocaust, you know. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif I’m tired of this. I know there will always be lots of people that don’t understand, but until I’m NAKED on my pole and posting pictures of it on a site that doesn’t allow nudity, then I fail to see how I am violating their terms.

EXACTLY! If girls can upload hot sexy images in bikini’s on the beach and such then clothed pole dancers should be allowed too.

Me and Qulia violeated the terms by being too hot for photobucket!

Ha ha, I believe it! It just seriously irritates me that I had to go through this hassle because I put up pictures of me on a pole in just a normal bathing suit doing poses that are much, much less overtly sexual than tons of other pictures on Facebook. I guess they are not wanton sinners though, since there was no pole involved. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif I am of the mindset that if you don’t like it, DON’T LOOK AT IT! No one forced whoever complained to view my photos, I’m sure. If they’re actually in violation, sure, flag them, but until you’re seeing enough of me that you might as well consider yourself my gynecologist, get over it.

georgiamarie, my security box doesn’t look like that…it just has a drop down box to select friends only and then i can checkmark each network if i want to below that (which i only belong to one and i actually don’t have any friends in that network for awhile now …it was a work related network….i quit ..) then below that it says "except for:" then you get to type in the peeps you don’t want to see the stuff. if "only me" is in the drop box then the other option below is "and these people" with an area to add people… thats crazy that its different… that just convinces me more how screwy their systems are. I also tried the other day to change my social plugins option….which i found the other day…i didn’t really think anything about it but now i want to disable it and can’t find it. I followed the ‘more information’ page and it says to go to the basic directory information to change the settings but it isn’t there anymore. I don’t know if its a glitch or if they’re changing things again.. either way i don’t like not knowing how its set right now or in a day or so….its aggravating.

    Hey aWiiPeanut,

Yes the screenshot I posted was how it USED to be. They updated it to the new version, that you describe, because too many people made mistakes by not UN-selecting ‘All my Networks’. Sorry I didn’t make that more clear.

I can’t answer the rest of your question about the social plugins because I’m afraid I didn’t really understand what you were asking. Your sentences ran together a bit and I got lost trying to following your problem https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I’m sorry! Could you explain again what you’re trying to do? Alternatively, this (rather long) tutorial might help you configure your facebook privacy settings the way you want them: http://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=391922327130

Gosh speaking of Photobucket, I uploaded photos of my two year old grandson sloshing around in a big water trough we had in the back yard. I guess a redneck kiddie pool, haha. He came over with no swim suit and we just let him go "au naturelle" and pile in and play. No frontal shots and for gosh sakes he’s just a baby. There may have been one or two of his little wrinkled butt climbing in or out and they took those down.

I thought I had it set to Freinds or Family only but they still got flagged.

I think I should take all my clothes off and get in there today! It’s 98 here in steamy Florida!

So guess what? My account was disabled AGAIN. I logged on Monday at lunch to look at something, and it informed me that my account was once again disabled. Facebook JUST friggin’ reactivated it Saturday night. I barely had time to even realize it was reactivated before they disabled it again. I didn’t take any of my photos down, because I didn’t really have the chance to get on it for long and do much, not to mention I was still deciding what exactly to do. I don’t know when it was disabled again, but it had to have been either sometime Sunday night or Monday morning.

I think this is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know if someone is just so concerned with getting my pictures taken down that they keep checking, and when they saw that they hadn’t been removed, they reported my profile again, or if Facebook made an error, considering the fact that it took them two tries to actually reactivate my account.

I am really, really getting sick of this. I’m still debating whether or not to delete my account, but I can’t even do that if they keep preventing me from logging in!!!

How annoying! I am leaning towards to the idea that someone is flagging your pictures. Facebook simply doesn’t have the time or resources to go out seeking the material themselves. How do I know this?

Facebook has half a billion active users. And there’s about 100 million new user every month.

I’m going to say that again. HALF A BILLION people are active on facebook. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Now, I don’t know if that’s a US billion or a UK billion but either way… that number is friggin HUGE. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif Facebook is the largest website in the entire world. Second to none. It needs 30 000 servers just to keep running.

So not only does that make me believe there is no way that a little man is sitting in a room, looking through pictures trying to find ones to block, and that instead they must have been reported…. but it also shows just how many ACTIVE users facebook has to handle.

I’m sure they are are trying their best. And even though it’s frustrating – 2 days is pretty damn quick, when you have that many customers!

I suggest you get in contact with them again, and explain the issue clearly and politely – and in as few words as possible. These people are very busy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I’m sure it is not Facebook (unless it was some kind of glitch,) but someone, probably a friend of a friend, who is anally retentive enough to sit there and make sure my photos were removed, and when they noticed they were all still up, they flagged them again. The problem is, while Facebook responds to their protests in about a day and a half or two, it takes me a week to get my account up and running again. If I’m not able to log in and remove the pictures or change my settings in time, once they reactivate it someone could easily flag them yet again and then the whole process starts over, which is starting to get extremely frustrating.

I know they have a lot of people on there–I did not know the exact amount, but I knew it was some ridiculously high number of users. What ticks me off is not so much that they disable the account–I would expect that if someone flags you for violation, they disable your account and check into it. However, I would expect that once they review the situation, which they supposedly do, then they should acknowledge that the pictures are not in violation of anything and tell the whiner that they reviewed the situation and the pictures/video/whatever were not in violation of their user rules.

I’m just really tired of this politically correct attitude that not just Facebook, but the whole world seems to have adopted. If someone finds it offensive, then we cannot say/do it, even if it’s not wrong or against any laws or rules.

I agree with all of the above!

You’d also think that once a picture had been flagged and reviewed as NOT inappropriate, that (as you say) they would send an automated message to the flagee saying ‘thank you for your concern, the material you reported has been reviewed, however it has been deemed suitable according to our terms blah blah’… And I also think they should mark that pic/vid as such, so it would be protected from future flagging. (Until such a time as it has been flagged by 5 more people or something, for example.)

How frustrating! I hope you get it sorted.

Sounds like you do have a secret hater https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I know people who can really "work" FB get in your stuff and see whatever they want. A lot of people still have the pole dance/fitness=stripping it’s a shame this day and age when people can’t seperate apples from oranges. If someone poles for $$$ hey it’s hard work they have my thumbs up lol !!!! hey change your name and POST MORE PICS !!!!! don’t let’em win I’ll be a fellow poler and FB friend !!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

That’s why even though I’ve been thinking of possibly just deleting my account, part of me really doesn’t want to. For one, there are several people on there who I mostly keep in touch with through Facebook, and for another, whoever this is, I don’t want them to win, like you said. They shouldn’t be able to essentially force me off Facebook because they are narrow-minded enough to be offended by me hanging upside down from a metal pole, fully clothed.

nyterayn, I’ll gladly add you if I can ever get them to reactivate the damn thing long enough for me to do so! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif
