    Hey guys!

I finally have got the courage to put up my pole! It is in my unfinished basement and I have it up against one of the joists (since it is exposed because it's unfinished) my only concern is that it's just up against one and it doesn't have the ceiling to suction up against the dome, but otherwise It seems super sturdy up there.

My only question is are you supposed to take down your pole after so many days? It was hard getting it level with the wood as it is so it doesn't come crashing down, but my goodness, I feel dumb on this thing, it's SO hard to do moves ha! 🙂 Practice is key I guess.

    Thanks! 🙂

My sisters is like that and is very sturdy.  Mine kept slipping, so I finally had the hubby screw through the dome right into the stud.  Its not moving.  Before we made it permanant, we took it down about once  a month, but it was TOO much work!!!!  I don't care if my joints stick and it doesn't come apart.  I'm not planning on taking it apart and bringing it other places.  When it EVER comes down again, it will be when I am too old to pole and it will be going into the trash….or maybe dropped off at Goodwill.

The moves are HARD!!!!!!!  I gave up after a few days.  Finally after a month I signed up for Veenas lessonas and learned how to do many things.  Good luck!

yeah, you should be fine with your pole that way. If you ever look at the xpole assembly video on youtube theirs is exposed as well. Happy poling!

The dome doesn't actually suction to anything– the silicone is there to keep it from slipping, not to create an airlock.

As long as it is centered on the joist, you're fine. If it's an Xpert I would recommend checking it every time to pole to make sure that the holes to tighten/loosen the xjoints are not turning within the extensions (make sure the holes stay lined up).
