Pole Jam Tipps
Posted by emotioncatcher on May 8, 2012 at 3:52 amHey Veeners 😀
Me and some other german girls will soon have our first Pole jam together and we wondered whether you would like to share some tipps or experiences with us, so it´ll be a fun and successful Pole Jam.
We will be 10-15 girls and have about 6 poles. We have all levels of pole dancers from beginners to advanced 🙂
We definitly want to do some doubles 🙂
Thanks for your help!

And what kinds of snacks and drinks to have! Obviously water is a good choice.
One point for me!!

I pole once a week with 5 other girls, we have 1-2 poles and we're all upper intermediate who don't take lessons and we just try to teach ourselves. We're new to pole jamming too (it's been a month or two now) so maybe I don't have the best advice yet, but so far, here are some helpful things I thought I'd share from our limited experience…
So far it has helped us to have a structured plan for the 2 hours we have together. We roughly schedule in advance how we want to divide time doing warm up, conditioning, drills, working on certain moves and try to stick with it. One person is in charge of moving things along to keep everyone focused. No hard feelings if you get yelled at for slacking off https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif This way you get to accomplish everything you want. One person in charge of the music. Each girl must come prepared and must have picked a few moves she wants to work on, so that it will be easy to trade moves with each other, and it will minimize just sitting around staring at each other. One of us also has an iPad and we video ourselves so we can see where we go wrong and what we need to improve on.
Water is good, yes! For snacks, we've been staying away from too much carbs or anything too heavy because that gets us lazy and sleepy later on. We have carrot sticks, hummus with thin whole wheat crackers, light cheese, mini turkey wraps, salad, strawberries… Cupcakes and ice cream have now been banned! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Anyway, hope that helps. I wish you ladies a very fun and successful pole jam and I'm looking forward to seeing other people's tips for pole jams as well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us gummypia 😀 I already wondered if it would be better to make a structure. And it´s a very good idea to tell the girls to think about what they would like to work on

Yay! I can barely contain myself!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Thank you for the tips gummypia. I can see us just standing around talking and not doing very much, so having a plan is a great idea. I bought healthy snacks today. I have no idea how to share a pole, so that is completely foreign to me…haha. Speaking broken-German is not foreign but sharing a pole, I have no idea. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
3 more days!!

Haha Jelli that's exactly what happened to us the first few times! Oh another "bad habit" we were doing was to watch amazing pole clips on Youtube together to the point that we forgot to pole ourselves! So now we have a private FB group together, and if we find moves on the internet that we would like to try, we post them on there so the other girls can help brainstorm on how to break it down. It makes figuring out the move easier when we see each other and it saves time as everyone has seen the Youtube already before we start.
P.S. Emotioncatcher, sometimes we watch your Youtubes, and we love them. Thanks much! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Your pole jam sounds like it is going to be lots of fun. Hope you will be up to posting a video of it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif. And….I just discovered the Smiley Faces "archive"…..I must overuse these…they are sooo cutehttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_elephant.gif

Our pole jam is over now 😀 It was sooooo awsome. We are all tired now ^^ I feel every muscle
We didn´t make a clear plan, but it was no problem. We could stay in the room for as long as we wanted, so it was no problem if we took longer breaks to eat something or talk a bit 🙂
I´ll try to post photos and a video as soon as possible -
Where are you in Germany? I am in Bamberg and I am dying to meet other polers.
-
I am still sore from just one day! I don't know what all of you did yesterday, haha. Were you very tired?
I didn't want to stop but my body said, "heeeeck no!" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

I´m sooo tired too! my alarm clock woke me up at 7am yesterday and we poled until 4pm. The other girls were tired, too, but once we were warmed up it was much better and we could practice again a lot 🙂
we also did some more chair dance in the end, roxi did an awesome forearm stand on a chair. I did one, too, but only a very short one as I was too scared ^^
and I did a middle split on two chairs 😀 I´ll check later the video and see if it was flat ^^

You need to put together a video ;). I don’t think you have more time than me right now, either. But it is so much fun to relive everything, no?

yes, it´s so nice to look through the photos and videos. I miss all the girls and can´t wait to do another pole jam.
We have two hours of videos… I already went through 1h 😉
