Pole Move Ideas for NEW Lessons

Also, the cross foot release- the one where you start from plank, twist one leg over the other, put the foot behind the pole, sit and lean back. I think it looks like a pretzel. I came across it when looking at videos for the Remi sit drop.
-
KittyCat…I believe that is just called the Remi. I thought that Charley had tutorials on that but she may just have the drop. That move hurts like crazy and I think you could probably do some serious ankle damage if you mess it up.

chem, the cross foot is the same as the remi, i actually prefer descriptive names to esoteric ones, so i actually do call it a "cross foot release" instead =) i dont think the move itself (not the drop) hurts TOO much if you ease into it– but everyone's pain tolerance is different.

Oh yes it hurts. I guess I was not doing it wrong then… 🙂 thanks!

Hey! I would LOVE to see some more…er, transitional ideas, and what to do with arms and stuff! You know, so I don't get the "T-Rex arm" thing (where your spare arm just kind of hangs there, bent at the elbow).
Also, perhaps ways of making your own routines? I know most of us don't do it here, but it would be very helpful to get a bit of help with it, anyways!
Drops would be awesome, because I LOVE them!
And umm…I dunno what else! I think you're doing marvelously!

Veena – would you be willing to make a spreadsheet or chart naming all the hand positions with pics? I do not even think I know all the grip types, let alone their names.
-
I just got through looking on ebay for a poster or book or something with kind of a chart thing of photos of moves positions but no luck yet…

Hope these help
Also, there is an app called pocket pole that has a bunch of moves and videos of the moves. There are free versions and also paid versions that work on both iphones and androids. PFA also has flashcards available.

None of those have a good list of grips. I wish they did.

Don't have any special requests, but wanted to take the opportunity to say how much I appreciate your commitment to excellence!

I also wanted to say thank you for all of your lessons and tutelage. You have not only saved my back but also probably days (or months) of trying to figure out ONE move. I was wondering you were planning to do a lesson on the pole prance (like a sitting walk) or spins coming up from a floor position. I learned a couple of these in a German workshop but if they broke it down, I did not understand it 😉 I am also looking forward to your combos!! There are many moves that just flow into one another and it always nice to see someone splicing them together. When I try to figure it out, most often I miss something. Some spin combos are really pretty but are done so quickly that I can't keep up.

Found the thread full of ideas and moves for new lessons! Can I add to it? I'd love to learn:
Variations on drops (jade/horizontal split, remi, crucifix into shoulder dismount V)
The quick transition from elbow grip aysha to split grip aysha (as seen with Oona and Alethea Austin) @ 0.55seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-kRaR8yfqg
Marion Amber
Devil's Elbow grip spin and sit that Karol Helms and Dirdy Birdy do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXyQq1Aloss&feature=relmfu
