Hello! I started going to a studio about a month and a half ago and loved it! So i purchased the X pole, 45mm chrome and i love it. Here is my problem and i want to know if anyone else experiences this. I go to the studio on the weekends, only time i can go due to how i work. I am pretty good with my fireman spin etc. I come home and practice it, just fine. I work on other things, fine. I have noticed if im sore or real tired, I cant even do the fireman’s spin! Its like i forget the technique or something i dont know and i get discouraged! Because its simple. This has happened twice but I notice it only when im just worn down and tired or real sore from practicing the day or so before.

Sounds familiar. No worries. My skills and performance are not the same all the time. its´frustrating but its normale. Progress are not like a straight line, sometimes it´s feels like you are going backwards. Typically if you are tired like you said. I have days that I can do “anything” and days that nothing works. For eksample: my shoulder mouth is solid, but when I am tired sometimes I can’t do it at all. Not even close. And I have it like that with a lot of things. Some days my skin hurts and I feel weak. Other days I feel like a queen on the pole. Don’t rush it and don’t let it stress you. Its normale:) take a week off if you are tired and eat enough food. Have fun!

Thank you very much! I thought it was just me. I dont have any pole buddies and i have to rely on the internet to find answers. I do feel like im going backwards on some days, like yesterday. I layed on the couch and looked at my pole in despair..lol. I feel a lil better today but I think im going home and just try some excercises and not do anything to spectacular, not that i can anyway. But it just bothers me to pieces when i cant even get the fireman’s spin right!

Yes yes yes.. it’s muscle fatigue. I’m going through it now this week but I just find other stuff to jus so that I can stay on the pole. My hands are so sore but I understand jus what you are saying :). It will get better but make sure to alternate sides so that you can be even handed.

Yep yep to what the other ladies said. Often cuz pole is so fun we don’t wanna stop! But when your performance diminishes because you are sore and tired, it’s sadly time to do something else for awhile 🙂 it’s taken me a year to recognize when that happens during practices…like ok…diminishing returns…I must be tired…:time to walk away…get some rest, and return fresh and sassy! 😉

I have days where I am just off and start to get pissed that I can’t accomplish the trick I had decided to work on. I have learned to go with the flow and pick something else, etc. Usually when this happens I don’t have the strength for whatever I’ve chosen to work on or the pole is so slick in my dry winter house that I can’t grip so now I choose to work on a dance move or floor work or something else. I’ve often found that I’ll either warm up enough to achieve something equally as interesting or will learn a cool floor move I didn’t know I could do. Be flexible in what you’re working on and things will tend to come at their own pace.

Don’t stress! It’s normal to perform better in class, have you thought about taking the lessons here? Then you would have some guidance while you are home. Also you don’t need to practice every day and you totally need to have a day of rest in between pole sessions. This will prevent overuse injuries, your body need rest to grow stronger after a hard workout. 😊
