    Also, along these same lines, is there a way to mark people by who they are? Like how Veena and Webmaster are administrators/moderators, is there a way to add the groups and titles of studio owners, professional performers (like Amber and Karol), venders (like MightyGrip and PoleSkivvies), "regular" pole students, etc.? I’ve seen other forums do something along these lines, don’t know if it would be possible for this forum or not… Just a thought. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    Personally, I like the anonymity that boards provide. I’ve heard from some of the professional polers that they have profiles on boards that are not their real names as well. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I think it’s good to be able to just be "polers" on the board and not have to identify with a specific group. But that’s just my .02 cents.

    In regards to the studio owner boards, Heather from Aradia recently started a group on FB for pole instructors, studio managers and owners. You might want to reach out to her to be added to that group. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    I think this is a great idea! just like there’s a section "just for moms (&dads)", it’d be nice to have one for studio owners and/or instructors! I personally have many business-related issues i’d like to discuss, & wouldn’t know where i should post. (And of course students & anyone else would be welcome to give their input/opinions too, since many issues are related to classes & student satisfaction). I’m in the FB group that CurvyDiva mentioned, & it’s great! But it would also be nice to have one on here too.. I hope veena & webbie make a category for this in the forum! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    I just meant to help know where someone is speaking from when they ask for or give advice, etc. Like if I post for help on a move, it would be nice to know whether or not the advice is from another pole dancer or if it’s coming from a professional instructor. And of course, if someone doesn’t want to be known by who they "actually are" on the forums, they don’t have to join the group or they can always use a pseudonym or make sure they never reveal their identity. I can understand wanting anonymity – I have 2 Facebook profiles – one for "me" and one for my pole persona – for that very reason. It was just a thought, that’s all. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    i don’t like the idea because even if someone is a pole teacher, doesn’t mean they have any kind of certification. i understand why you like the idea, but i like studioveena because we are all equals. also, don’t feel like you can’t post something because it doesn’t have its own category. surely "everything else pole related" covers any question we could have, and i don’t THINK i’ve seen veena lash out for posting in the wrong category https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif , lolz. even so, this is just my opinion. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

    I get where your coming from journey, however alot of people’s profiles will say whether they are a beginner or professional. It’s think nice to avoid the hierarchical thinking that can comes with giving everyone titles. I like that we are all equals. Makes it easier for new people as well, could possibly be intimidating otherwise?

    I see where polebunny and Audball are coming from and I still disagree – but to each their own.

    And none of that would apply to Flexx10’s idea of having a forum for the studio owners, which I think is still a good idea in and of itself. I was just piggybacking it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    Hi all!!

    Here is the link to the Facebook group I created that Ms CurvyDiva referred to…

    http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_169279869756568" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    all studio owners/instructors/managers are welcome! It seems a lot of us have a similar idea – I love the fact that in the pole community we are all more like sister businesses than in a cut-throat competitive atmosphere https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

    If that link doesn’t work… you are welcome to add me on Facebook or send me a message – I can then add you to the group!

    Ladies ~ Thanks for posting the FB link, I’ve already added myself https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I’ve been reading all your comments and would like to thank all of you for responding to my original post of having a ‘studio owners’ area on this site. I thought this would be a good idea as there are certain issues studio owners face that the general poling population does not. Also, it would be nice to have all the owners in one place for networking and referral purposes. I often get people from various locations that are interested in my classes, but live too far away from my studio ~ It would be nice to be able to refer them to a pole studio near them. I also get emails from women in other states asking me if there is a studio near them (not sure how they come across my site, but whatever https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif ) Another referral opportunity!
    I’m not trying to exclude anyone by having an owners forum ~ It just makes sense to me to have one "go to" place for studio owners (and those thinking about opening their own studio) to discuss business related issues and networking opportunities. Yes polebunny, the "everything else pole related" category is an option and I will probably be posting owner related issues there as well as foxxy’s FB page! Thanks for all your input ladies! Great discussion https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rendeer.gif
