  • Pole Studios in New England?

I'll be out there this summer and would like to pole somewhere along the way. I tried to search for a studio in Maine but it looks like there aren't any, and there WAS one in Manchester, NH which would be PERFECT, but it closed. 🙁 Anyone know of any? I know there aren't any in VT either…

There's two pole studios in Boston- Boston Pole Fitness and Super Shag.  There's also at least one place (name?) in Providence, RI.

I'm wondering this too. I have family in Colebrook, NH and was planning a trip sometime soon up that way. Pole Bliss looked like a really nice studio but they're the ones that closed. 🙁

All I found was the New England Center for Circus Arts in Vermont.

New England Centre for Circus Arts (NECCA) doesn't offer dance pole, but it's a *great* place to go for a private Chinese pole lesson.  (I drive up from Boston for this once a month)  Their instructors are really high caliber, most having worked in Cirque de Soleil, Ringling Bros., etc.  I highly recommend it!

Small world, Kody. We go out there every year or two to visit family. Yeah, sad to see that studio has closed, it did look awesome.

Thank you, Elektra! I will see if it's feasible for me to visit one in Boston. 🙂

That NECCA place looks fantastic! I'm hoping to do that for sure!

my hubby and i will be driving up there from southern nh (amherst – where HIS son lives) just for one day and one night.   he has never met my dad or my brother, so that will be enough, lol.

My aunt and her family live in Colebrook, NH. I messaged her on her facebook asking about pole studios, although I highly doubt she would have a clue if there was even one in her city. LOL. I figured it'd be worth a shot.  It didn't look promising in my google search.  I do however want to check out The New England Center for Circus Arts for the aerial silks.  I'm considering their instructor training.  I emailed them inquiring about future dates as this weekend is their current fabric instructor training- too short of notice for me to make that one..LOL.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

yah, i doubt there are any studios in that area.  colebrook is a tiny little town.  my brother moved up there about 5 years ago because it's so inexpensive to live.  but there is nothing there.  the center for circus arts in vermont sounds awesome though!    🙂

@Kobajo84- I know a few people who've done the whole year-long "professional development" program at NECCA, and here's what they had to say about the various teacher trainings, etc:

Their weekend course is really a workshop for those already familiar with/teaching aerial fabrics-  and it's not an official certification of any kind, although my understanding is that the NECCA name is good to have on your CV anyway.  If that's what you're looking for, it's probably perfect.  If you're looking for more intensive traininig, though, you might be better off doing their "boot camp" in the summer.  I'm planning on doing it this summer, if I get in!
