I have an X pole, and I have been using the smallest extension piece, but it requires that I unscrew it to nearly its last thread. Recently, I don't know if its due to settling or colder weather, it is needing to be raised. I eye checked the taller extension, and thought it would be better, since I've always been able to feel that the pole is far out on its thread, and it looked to be about the same length. I have the thread all the way tightened and the taller extension, and the dome gets snug on the ceiling about 5 inches away from its spot, thus making the pole crooked. I tried hanging on the pole while my husband pulled to get it in place, and it is sitting where it wants. So we either have to take it back down and have the thing alllll the way at the top of its height range, or find some way to make this thing budge the last few inches. We've decided to leave it alone and see if it will settle anymore. Has anyone encountered this? Should I be worried about the threading feeling unstable when its so extended? So frustrated…

I would recommend buying an extra extension in the right size for what you need. There are lots of extra sizes in between the ones that come with your pole, and for only $15-20ish I'd say it's worth it to not have to worry about your pole not being safe 🙂

    Hi!

You should measure the area ( height) of the space, thats the only way to figure out which extension to use 😉
