Pole sleeves
Posted by Sieira on November 8, 2014 at 10:31 pmHello ladies has anyone purchased a pole sleeve? How do you like it? Is it worth the money? I’m thinking about getting one.

What is the reason that you want one? I think that is the most important question. It will increase the diameter of your pole quite a bit and you are unable to do spins with it.
Here are a few threads about them. AerialGypsy has a link to a blog post regarding hers at the end of the first link I have here.

I just cannot see the price. I have also recently gotten the chance to play on one at Midwest. I personally was not super impressed.

There’s one at the studio I go to. If you want to be able to pole fully clothed or in outside conditions that are not ideal for pole it is good. It is also good when learning new things so you can get the feel the move itwithout having to deal with slippery pole issues. A lot of the girls will spend a little time on the one at the studio when they are learning to climb. It helps them to learn the correct way of climbing without fighting grip issues. It adds a lot of thickness to the pole, approx 5MM.
You cannot do spins on it or anything where you need to slide down the pole. Exposed skin will get a friction burn especially if you moving through several moves. It is harder to do a flowy dance with it. It is better suited for things that are more acrobatic / Chinses Pole in nature. It does have latex in it so allergies have to be considered. It is not easy to get on and off so you can’t really take it off to do something and then put it back on to do something else in the same workout. Putting it on and off requires multiple people and is a workout in and of itself. At the studio one pole is dedicated to the sleeve so the sleeve stays on it all the time.

Ya I wanna work on the harder moves at home with out having to be on a freezing cold pole half naked covered in dry hands lol never herd of silicon poles veena! I will have to check that out. So if the sleeve is on a spinning pole it will still spin right?
-
Ok checked out that pole SV that looks like a much better investment! Have you gotten any reviews on that? Have u tried it yet?
-
Yes, it will still spin. Pole sleeves are great. Can be taken off or put on easily with two people and a blower if you actually follow the directions…if you are getting a workout you aren’t doing it right. They have a promotion right now for 30% off their in-stock items…so they start at only $175.
Silicone will get slippery at the first hint of dampness, whereas pole sleeves do not. Pole sleeves are great if you are learning new skills, especially the more acrobatic moves. Great if you live somewhere humid or you are sweaty…and great in the winter so you can wear clothes and not worry about warming the pole. -
I had a pole sleeve and didn’t like it. Even with a league blower I couldn’t get it off my brass X pole. I eventually cut it off.

I have heard of people having issues removing their pole sleeves and having to cut their’s off. At a pole convention in Las Vegas last year, they were selling them for base $250. I would instead recommend trying to get your hands on these, and just wrapping a few of them around your pole. They’re thinner and provide the same level of grip, imo.

I have not tried Pole Sleeves. I would love to try the silicon xpole, we’ve been traveling so I’ve not had a chance yet! I’ve heard good things about the silicon x tho! I have seen many complains about the sleeve being difficult to remove.

Thanks! I think I’m gonna get the new 48 pink silicone pole 🙂

Hi Sieira! Please do let us all know how you like it. I’m particularly interested since I’m considering one, too. Really like my chrome xpole, but would like to pole wearing more clothing than what we can with chrome….
