I have been trying to work out a long term stage name for myself for months now and am no closer to deciding…. its soooo frustrating not having a permanent pole identity!

@Lola Wantz – there is actually a Chicago burlesque dancer that has gone by "Lola Getz" for the past few years – her tagline / intro line for shows is, of course, "Whatever Lola wants, LOLA GETZ!" 🙂 You two should get together!
My porn star name is Ginger Dale. Sounds kind of classy and old fashioned.
When I did burlesque before, I was Apple Venus. If you have awesome taste in music, you should know where that comes from… 🙂 But that was ridiculously hard to network; the other girls would call you by your real name, and you'd have to remember who you told what to… blah
Now I'm thinking of doing a pole act in a burlesque show, so I want to use my real first name for ease of use (Meagan) and then something sexy as a faux last name. My faves so far are:
Meagan Whiskey, Meagan Wolf, or Meagan Cassidy… Thoughts?
Other dark, sexy, mysterious words that sound good with Meagan or Meg? (I REALLY wanted to be Meagan Shadow after American Gods, but I didn't want to seem like I was trying to be / compete with the amazing poler who just goes by Shadow.)

I like Meagan Whiskey – because it makes me salivate for a cold beverage haha. I kinda like Meagan Wolf too…. or if you want to go really dark you could be Meagan Fatal…. as in fatal attraction… lady fatale… ?? Umm im trying to think of other dark seductive names…. Meagan Mists….? Meagan Indigo… Meagan Onyx (coz the stone is dark)… Nar I like Meagan Whiskey the best so far 😛 🙂

The issue I have is that my ‘normal’ name already sounds like a stage name! I’m Kitty (well, legally I’m Kathryn, but only to my grandmother!), but so many pole dancers/burlesque artists/etc. use ‘Kitty’ as a stage name…I feel like shouting ‘hands off my name, bitch!’ LOL
I’ve changed to using Kath in real life now, to try and sound a bit more ‘grown-up’, but that doesn’t make an interesting pole name. -

I have never been able to come up with a good performance name. Ever. I dont know why. I tried out Violette Skye, and its just not me. I have had lots of suggestions from people, including Poison (bc I love that band), Inertia (which I really disliked, but love that Massive Attack song), etc etc. There has always been something that makes it hard for me to adopt a name and feel comfortable becoming that character.
A burlesque group that I perform with forced me into choosing a name, so I do aerial burlesque as Bijou Blanc, but I can't find myself in that name either. But something had to go in the program. 🙂
My pet/road name would be Footloose Thomas…? yes. I had a cat that my siblings and myself named Footloose. Seeing it typed out makes me feel like a weirdo. bahaha.

I've never had a reason to have a stage name, so I've never really tried to think of one, but if I went with the first pet/street name model, I'd be Puppy Freedom. ROFL!!! Not a good name at all!

I've never had reason to have a stage name, but know that I like my first pet/street name: Ginger Van Meter.
I used to work at an all-inclusive resort and we would sometimes see who could tell folks the most outrageous, yet believeable story. I used to tell folks all the time that my name was Giovanna and my dad was from Africa and my mom from Italy. 😉 (they're both just plain American, lol)
