Pole stiletto
Posted by parasiteneko on August 1, 2014 at 1:57 amI have never wore pole stiletto before, but planning on purchasing some. I’m curious if they are the same as regular stilettos? Can I wear regular high heels for pole?

There are pros with wearing “dance” heels. I used to wear regular 5 inch stilettos to dance in. They were ok for just dancing around the pole, I never really got on it with them so I cannot vouch for that part. However when I bought a pair of 6 inch platformed heels, it took a ton of pressure off my foot because I was only technically wearing 4 inchers now, though they looked taller. And there is a metal rod through the heel so it’s more secure for the constant abuse these shoes will be put through. Same for the platform. It’s plastic (?) Making it very durable. So you can wear regular heels, but you may find you’ll want to invest in a dance specific pair. I never thought I would like platforms but now I want ALL THE SHOES!!

I find pole shoes very different from regular heels. First, pole shoes usually have rubber soles–regular heels usually do not, so pole heels get more traction on the floor. Second, pole heels tend to be flatter on the ball of the foot, whereas regular heels usually have a curve that helps your foot roll as you walk. More added stability! Plus what was already mentioned above. I would definitely invest in a pair…I always wear Pleasers. Nice styles too, very fun 🙂 Gets addictive very quickly!

I really want some pleasers but they’re just sooooooo expensive. I’m in the UK – is there any that I can get nice and cheap, even if they’re shipped in from a different country?

If you are near London, Camden Market/Camden Lock has lots of alternative/fetish wear shops with good platform heels and boots 🙂

I love pole shoes! They are so much more comfortable than regular heels.
Snaz75.com is my go to website for dance shoes. You can get some good deals in the clearance section, and I’ve found them to have the best prices on nonsale items (shoes only; the clothing is ridiculous). And if I remember right, if you spend $75 your shipping is free. I don’t know how that applies to overseas orders though.
