Poles and Planes
Hello all!
So I'm sure those who travel have taken their poles along with them, either for fun or competition. I'm heading to New Jersey from California in June and I'll be giving a few friends a pole lesson with my 50mm. 🙂 It's gonna be so fun!
But I've never traveled anywhere with it before. For one, its like 32 lbs!
Is there anything I need to know regarding traveling by plane with my pole? It's in a standard velcro case from xpole and I worry pieces could fall out during travel. Any advise?

I've travelled with my pole several times, and I always duct tape the case widthwise several times, so the pieces can't smack each other or fall out. The TSA ALWAYS cuts the duct tape open, but they also always replace it. Be careful to secure the shoulder strap, too, because mine got torn off by the TSA. As for the top of the pole, I put it in my check-in bag. They won't let you take something like that onboard, so you pretty much have to.

I've done it the same way as Elektra. I've even thrown a partial role of duct tape into the bag with the pole and left a note asking TSA to re-tape if they open it…throw another partial roll in my checked bag for packing up the pole for the return trip. And also the base and dome in the checked bag like Elektra said too.
