Hey ladies I need advice on how to get back into poling. I had my son in March this year and he’s now 9 months on the 29th and I haven’t touched the pole. I am in terrible shape and am not looking forward to starting from scratch. I need advice. I gained a lot of weight with him and although I’ve only got about 15 lbs if that to go before I’m back to my normal weight I feel terrible about myself with stretch marks too boot. Please help! If any of you have videos of before right after and where you are now please let me know. I need inspiration. =(
    Signed. A tired mom

I don’t have comparison pics right next to each other but if u look thru my pics and videos, there is a change for sure. When I started back my baby was almost one year and I was about 160-165 and 5’2″!! But when I started back at pole I quit looking at my scale and immersed myself in pole once per week for two hours. My baby is now 2.5 years old and I’m still 5’2″ but 120-125lbs.!!! The only way I knew my body was changing was not a scale but my own strength and the way my clothes fit. You can do it!!! Just hop on, even if it’s in the dark 🙂 it takes time, the more strength u regain will help your body image and your confidence. Stretch marks are mothers war wounds, u just have to learn to love them, although I got a few stretch marks I am quite disappointed that my boobs are gone and not as perky? I do think that’s in part to breast feeding for 15 months and losing so much weight. It was a small thing to get over compared to everything i have gained, strength, flexibility, confidence, motivation. I haven’t weighed this much since I was in high school 17 years ago. There’s no time like the present to start again, pump up the music, turn down the lights, and start loving your body inside and out again no matter how badly you see it!! Good luck to you and happy poling!!!!

Thank you so much your response was inspiring and I am going to go look at your videos right now! I wanted to continue poling while pregnant like so many of the beautiful moms on here but I had severe SPD and could barely walk mind you exercise. Now that my hips are better I hope to get started again. I guess part of the trick now will be finding he time !!
    Thanks again for the response.

Oh good 🙂 I’m glad I can inspire anyone thank u! TIME!!! Now that’s a different issue all together lol especially if breast feeding!!! My daughter would not take a bottle….ever. So at times I felt like it was 24/7. But she did thankfully take a sippy cup with water or juice, milk when old enough. When I got my pole at home (dec 2012), I would try to pole at nap time or night time. If I tried when she was awake she would hog it!! Lol
Sooo yay!!! Get poling it will make u feel better. Take some before pics or video even if u r not going to post or look at them right away, maybe measurements too 🙂 then in an indefinite amount if time retake them, u will see a difference. We are very supportive here on sv, so we would love to see them too!!

Welcome back! I don’t have kids yet but there are a lot of mothers on here. And Veena has some awesome videos of herself after having one of her kids. it was inspiring and actually brought tears to my eyes because all women have their struggles. she has a video of her belly and showing how to hide post baby belly and she also has a video of her first time poling after pregnancy and being off the pole for a long time. we would think she would just be able to get on it and do whatever, but it was a struggle even for her. just start gradually. don’t compare your body to what it used to be. and don’t wait for your body to improve before you start doing the things in life you want to. start moving now and your body will follow. you will get stronger and feel good doing it. congratulations on the baby! and congratulations on coming back to pole! 🙂

Awe thank you for the reply =) I am glad I posted on here I think it was the right first step for me! =P I am motivated and am ready to get back in shape and get the body I deserve! Plus I’m getting married in February of 2015 and need to be in the best shape of my life for it!!! I will have to search some how for mommas after they had babies to give me more inspiration. It’s just hard when your body knows what it wants to do but physically lacks the muscles to do t =\

Congratulations!!!! You’ll bounce back. 🙂 I would highly recommend doing the 30 day Take off Program here. Its included with the purchase of the lessons and gives you 30 days of training. One of the best things for you would be that each day doesn’t take much time so you can get your workouts in and be done, while still gaining strength! This program focus’s on everything you need to get back into pole again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4KzMIIbZH0

Thanks Veena. I just did my first pole session post baby about 15 minutes ago and although it was pretty bad it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I guess some tummy muscles are hard to get rid of. Flexibility is zilch and there are no chances of an invert anytime soon as to be expected but I’m thankful for what muscles stuck around!

Hi. I started back on the pole about a month and a half after i had my baby. I started off with really easy stuff, mostly just dancing and walking around the pole. I was about 15lbs over my pre pegnancy weight. My most difficult move before pregnancy was shoulder mount and i just did my first shoulder mount about a month and a half ago (its still sloppy & i have to use a matt just in case. My baby is almost 8 months & i weigh 12 lbs under my pre preg. Weight. I did do other cross training’ mostly a lot of walking. I poled in high cut pants & shorts & turned the lights down to give me more confidence. I have videos on my profile if you want to take a look, though some of them are pretty dark. Once you start again it will get easier.

I will definitely go check out your videos! I look forward to it =) ugh I’m so jealous. I’m 9 months post partum and STILL 15 lbs over my pre pregnancy weight. I wasn’t able to exercise as I could barely walk and Eric was a very difficult baby. Hopefully now I can get back on track!
