Hi all, just wanted to check in and say I’m in my annual horrendous depression and say thank you to Veena for this wonderful program. Poling and my animals are the only things that bring me joy right now. I am so glad to see people on Facebook talking about StudioVeena on the pole pages. I am very grateful to have this well-laid out program accessible at home. I am researching local studios but with my depression I don’t know if I will have the energy to get to one, however having this online program available is a blessing.

Aww catsanctuary, I think a lot of have those struggles too. I have bipolar depression and have struggled with it since I can remember. I literally remember feeling depressed and even suicidal at 5 years old, but I didn’t know what I was feeling. Just know you can always talk to us here . Hope you are doing ok. It’s hard to remember while you are depressed that it is not permanent. If you can get in to see a doctor, therapist, etc. then please do so if you can or if you haven’t already. You have our support and I hope this passes through you soon

Thanks. It’s been a 20 year struggle. The drs have tried every therapy, medication, holistic healing modality and nothings working. I am thinking of moving down south because it’s worse when the daylight declines.

Yes, I’ve heard others here who struggle with seasonal depression. Its definitely sunny year round here in southern Cali! 🙂

I think I can be bipolar but I never got tested, my mom was bipolar and I heard it can be inherited. I hope you find something to help.

I’m very happy you’ve found a place to share and comfort in my lessons too! As mentioned, make sure you talk or see someone if it ever gets bad…we’re here for you too, you’re never without people who care!!!!

I had a real tough time living with clouds in the winter months, (MN and ND) and I did suffer from seasonal depression, moving west has been sooooo helpful for my mood. I almost forget what I use to feel like when it was cloudy for days on end, then I visit someplace cloudy and after just one day I remember! lol I try to enjoy the cloudy days now (we have more here in the bay than when I lived in Vegas). But usually if the fog is here in the AM, I know the sun pops out for a bit in the afternoon, so I can look forward to that!

I’m glad you have found things that bring you joy during your dark times! I’ve had a decades long struggle with treatment resistant depression as well. I hope moving south makes a difference for you, it made a huge difference in my life. I didn’t fully realize how difficult winters were for me until my first fall. Also, for what it’s worth, having an work space with a window makes a big difference for me too.
