Gold darn I LOVE this site.
I love the fact that we can all vary in our opinions and not see people turn into flaming catty peeps. KUDOS to everyone. Love the support we all have for one another here.Now……….in true reenie fashion…..lol
I asked my hubby his opinion…..filled him in on the convo….
His cute albeit flirty response…….
"Well, I love the fact that I have a porn star in the bedroom and the fact that she pole dances as well………..All good for me!" (said with a complete sheepish and come hither type grin)
He offered that a job is just that…..a job. Just because men or women have jobs that some of society would find questionable, it is still work. Would he want me taking up that type of profession…….not so much. But he certainly wouldn’t judge the pole community by one video. He likes the song as do I.
However, people will judge and no one can change that over night. We can only represent as we the individual see fit and stand with our heads high and proud for enjoying a sport that we all love for its eclectic variety. Everyone brings something different to the sport. We can be anything we want to be while we pole…….sexy, flirty, naughty, athletic, the list goes on and on. Not one of us should ever lower our eyes to the viewpoints of others. We stand proud! Now, as he poles too, he has a much greater understanding of the strength required for some of the tricks we do.
Not sure if that makes a difference in his opinion……I just thought I would pop in here and share his thoughts…….he always makes me giggle with the things that come out of his mouth…..
We have been married 19 years now…..and he still surprises the heck out of me……
Huge hugs to all

As far as the song and pole dance goes…I think the song is more a celebration of the sex industry in general, like someone else already said "the male fantasy" of a woman doing his sexual bidding for money. Pole dance came from that industry. There’s no getting around that (and who am I to judge, I’m not tough enough to survive in the sex industry). This video shows exotic pole dance in its original form.
There are still a lot of people who don’t realize there are other forms of pole dance. And there are also people who turn their nose up at pole dance regardless of what they know about it. I’m not gonna spend precious energy trying to convince judgmental people that my hobby is "legit" or "not slutty". Some poeple think simply dressing attractively or exploring sensuality is slutty, and those are two fun parts of pole dance for me. But I do try to inform people that there are different styles of pole dance, that for a lot of people it’s just a fun hobby or workout. Not because I’m offended at being labeled a stripper, but because the notion that pole dance and stripping are the same thing is no longer accurate. It’s like assuming everyone who practices yoga is a Hindu or Buddhist monk (that’s soooo 4000 years ago).
So yeah, I don’t think there is a double-standard. I think there is diversity within the pole dance world, and I’m glad there is. And I thank the ladies who pioneered pole dance in strip clubs.
Btw, the song doesn’t appeal to me. I think it’s generic and boring. It’s cool to see the tricks in the vid, and the outfits are hot on some of the girls, but the overall style of the vid is just like the song… generic and boring to me.

I’m not gonna lie, if this song had come out when I was working exotically, I totally would’ve danced to it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I remember table-dancing to "Private Dancer" and doing a set to Cab Calloway’s "Minnie the Moocher" (she was a low-down hoochie-coocher, 1920’s slang for stripper). It’s like saying "yeah, we both know what’s going on, I’m gonna tease you, you’re not getting any, but give up the dough and we’ll pretend!"
The thing is, women are socialized to be "good" and "nice" so often we’re not comfortable being sexual. Sometimes we just don’t feel like giving men what they want, anyway, so there! Nothing wrong with that. So they go out and pay for the kind of attention they want, even if they know it’s an illusion. And yes, they can act like https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif !
Sometimes, after work, if I was between boyfriends, I’d go out and watch the male strippers and hire one for a table dance! Sometimes it’s fun to pretend… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
I have to agree with many of you that the conversation here seems to very civilized around this song, very agree to disagree and I DIG that about this site~ https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif -
I agree with many of the posts above, like my post on the blog said, it is just a song! A cheesy, fun for the summer song, it’s nothing to get worked up about in my opinion. I had said it before, you can choose what you want to make of YOUR pole dancing, you can choose to take all the sexy out and never wear high heel shoes, go strictly with tricks, for you, but I can assure you there will be someone who will still ask you if you are a stripper, I personally don’t care, I knew it was going to be this way when I started pole dancing, I knew people were going to raise eyebrows when they see my pole in my living room, if I weren’t ready and up for it then I would’ve switched to pilates or yoga. I, personally think pole dancing is ALWAYS going to be associated to strippers and therefore to the sex industry, it’s a reality, this is how it started, this is how it has always been, when people think “stripper” they think “sex”, this will never change, I will never argue with someone, anyone, until I’m blue in the face about how pole dancing can be perfectly accepted just like jogging for example, I would clarify that I’m not a stripper once, if they believe it good, if they don’t then fine with me too, I would also do it in a matter where I let the person know that there’s nothing wrong with strippers, and in this case, with porn stars, because when you fight them tooth and nail to not be associated with “them”, you are confirming what they thought in the first place, that these kind of women are just horrible human beings and you feel degraded being associated with them, and that is just wrong in my book, there are all kinds of people in this world, good and bad, crack whores and university students, mothers, some of them are strippers and porn stars, some of them are not, just like some porn stars can pole dance and who knows, maybe some pole dancers have been in porn, it’s just the way it is, your pole dancing is personal, you make it your own, what you want it to be, but none of us can deny its ties, to me, we are in many cases, degrading and snubbing the women that gave us the sport, and the women who we now admire and pay to take their workshops by trying to deny and separate completely from them. And to be honest, the people out there listening to this song are most probably not even paying attention to the lyrics or reading into it like that, they are probably thinking “song about porn star dancing, sexy women, looks like a strip club, there’s a pole, shocker, next”. LOL

I think it is great that you all have put your 2 cents in on this video/song.
I understand the big up roar about it.
I am sure Jenyne did it for a good reason.
I think the song is most definitely catchy.
Thank you everyone for sharing. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif -
Sometimes I use songs with good beats and sometimes I don't listen to the words, or sometimes I use it to help my body get in the right groove. I don't let a song's lyric's get to me when I'm dancing cause the song is not about me nor does it define me. But if certain songs leave a bad taste in your mouth then please by all means don't dance to it. I LOVE PORN STARS! I have friends in that profession it doesn't bother me one bit. You are gonna always run into ignorant people that want to put us all under the same umbrella, but I think the song is very catchy.
I'm fortunate enough to not have negative people in my life that judge me on what my hobby is, but I'm sure ther are few coming around the river bend soon enough and when that happens I will distance myself from them I don't need that sort of drama.

I can’t find the actual music video on YouTube and the link above didn’t work.
Most of my opinions on it have already been discussed. I bet if it came on in a club though (one if the fun ones with a pole) and all the women were on it grinding thinking they’re the bomb, you would get up and dance to it and effing own them too!

cranks me so much when people snob strippers
it pisses me off that people are snobbing dancers and tryin to turn it into their clean little sport , i mean get over it, pole will always be associated with dancers. And by the way all womens want to look hot. I bet they wish they d be a stripper in their fantasys lol….. but some just couldnt so they turn their back and go for the fitness only side

I see your view, but for me it doesnt bother me because pole dance isn't just dance. It's pole dance as in started in a strip club which is a sex insdustry. If you don't want sexy then you do classical not pole. Even Amber who is classically trained teaches awesomely sensual and rauchy dances in some classes.

This is an old post, I never notice till half way through readin lol!
In my opinion, songs are written based on personal experience and it after reading the song lyrics I feel its just telling a story…not actually portraying all pole dancers to be strippers. -
When I wanted to look up the video on YouTube I saw there are censired versions of it so of course I went for the uncensored https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
But while watching, I thought "when the hell do they show the adult stuff"? And while i was thinking, the song was over.
So, am I disappointed? No. I think it's a nice song, it's catchy and would prabalby make myself feel naughty when dancing to it – will try that later https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
I can actually deal with it when people think I'm doing naughty pole dancing. That's ok. It only shows that they have a problem with their sexuality when they're making a big thing out of it.
So, coming to a point: I just downloaded the song to dance to it when I'm going to the pub with the poles on the bar again next month https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

My favorite video I made for SV was all about Porn. Now, I am no big name pole star, just little ole Lyme Lyte in her basement. But the song I used was very popular in the 1970's and it is sung by an actual porn star the the song was all about making a porn video, "get the cameras rolling, get the action going"…..I LOVED feeling a little dirty and it brought out my artistic side. ENJOY

This song was dedicated to me because I pole dance…. mind you that same person is asking me to put a routine together for her fav. song ……… why……. because what we do is a beautiful expression!!!

I don't know if it' just me, but i interpet this as an adjective. Like it's porn star dancing. Like the type of dancing that porn stars do. Not that "this porn star is dancing."
Idk, to me it is a dinstinction that makes it acceptable. Sometimes pole dancing can be very very sexy and sexual, just like a porn star (note: NOT a porn) might be. I'm ok with a song sending the message "I like these girls who dance like porn stars." Epecially since it is specifically about strippers… i mean, that is their objective, pretty much, right?
It's a fun song. I will dance to it. I will also dance to ballerina-type music. Pole is diverse and I embrace all aspects of it.
