Post Gyno Visit! Follow up to my post
Okay…I went to my gyno appointment this morning. I spent almost the entire day yesterday reading things on the computer and freaking myself out so finally Boyfriend made me tear myself away from the computer and forced me to take a bath and go to bed before I made myself crazy.
I didn’t sleep terribly well last night between being anxious and having that pinched nerve in my right arm which is the side I usually sleep on…but I just really wanted it to be time to see what was going on. Fortunately I have a nice thorough doctor who doesnt like to leave any stones unturned so I was itching to pick his brain about what could be going on…
I went into the office and the nurse made me do a urine sample to rule out a UTI…then my gyno came in and talked to me about what’s been going on. Three years ago I was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia/cervical lesions and I actually had surgery this past summer to remove a cancerous lesion and I was wondering if the bleeding was related to that. He asked me some questions and looked inside (I hate when they put the speculuum thingy in it always hurts me so bad!) and said my cervix looked extremely inflamed, but based on what he saw and the questions he asked/my answers to them he was fairly certain I don’t have ghonnorea or chlamydia but did test for them anyway just to put my mind at ease, although it was relieving to know he didnt see any obvious signs of either one.
He does think that this is related to my cervical dysplasia so he took some biopsies and tissue samples because I guess women experiencing this are often on the road to early cervical cancer (!!!) but if that was the case I wouldn’t die from it or anything since it would be taken care of way before it could kill me and it takes years to die from cervical cancer and that’s only if it goes untreated for a very long time.
So overall my mind isn’t terribly at ease but I am glad to know I most likely don’t have anything yucky and that this is related to a condition I already knew about just getting worse. I’m in a little bit of discomfort right now since I’m having bad cramps like you would get when you have your period from him taking the tissue samples but my gyno is great and told me I should "play hooky" today so he wrote me a note to get me out of work and then my mom and I went out to lunch and for cupcakes hehe. I’m home now and I’m going to watch sex and the city in bed for the rest of the afternoon to try to take my mind off of things. Gyno said to call him on Monday to get my STD/biopsy results back and we can go from there…so I will keep everyone posted as soon as I know anything.
Thank you everyone who answered my post…and especially thank you to Azriel who called me all the way from Greece to calm me down!!! You guys are the best, I am constantly amazed at the closeness of everyone here and I’ve never even met any of you in person (but I’m hoping that will change this summer!) I was a little worried about posting at first because sexual health can be something that makes a lot of people squeamish and I didn’t want to offend anyone here or make you guys think I’m sleeping around or anything! So glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better about it Glitter, your doctor does sound great! Hope you recover from the speculum intrusion soon, they’re the most horrid invention on this planet (at least in my limited experience). Hope all sorts itself out soon and you’re back to spreading your glittery magic. Azriel you are an angel!
Oh and by the way, don’t worry about being gross, I’ve blogged about the time I "miscarried" a false pregnancy, that was pretty gross!

poor glitter!!! im so sorry honey, you have to be exhausted from all of that worrying. im so glad that your gyno thinks everything will be alright and that you don’t have chlamydia or gonorrhea, that’s a huge load off too! thank you for updating us too, i was thinking about you at 1030 this morning!!!!! **Azriel**- you blow me away honey!!!!! i almost wanted to cry just reading how you called glitter, you’re such a wonderful friend!!!!!!!!!

Hey there hun! I’m sooo glad your mind is a little bit more at ease. Your gyno sounds great. Please, please keep us posted OK. And try not to worry OK. I know it’s easier said than done. So, when you get to worrying think about all the people who care about you there and on this forum. awww i’m glad that you’re feeling a bit better and that it’s most likely not a new health issue! and the call was really no big deal, i just can’t stand it when a woman thinks that anything related to her body is "gross", or when we automatically assume that things like this are our fault and that we should be ashamed about telling our partners! Plus it’s soooo easy to go crazy over our gynecological issues.. but i’m so glad glitter that you went to your doctor, and like you said, if caught early on, it can be treated properly, and you’ll be just fine! keep us updated sweetie, everyone here loves you! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I’ve stayed mostly out of this thread because I wasn’t sure if you’d be comfortable with a guy making a comment. But when I saw how Azriel had offered support by calling all the way from Greece, I figured it was time for me to step up to the plate!
You were very courageous to seek the medical attention right away. If I had been half as smart and brave as you, I wouldn’t be looking at shelling out big bucks to replace a bad tooth. I’m scared even to go to the dentist!
