    Hello everyone!

I would like to gather opinions on posting videos to YouTube. Has this caused a problem for anyone in their place of work, with their family members, etc.? While I do not have a career this could affect right now, I am worried that it may come back to haunt me when I do. Once things are released onto the internet they can never fully be undone. Should I only post the semi- pg13 videos? When will the world just except pole dancing as an art form, and become more comfortable with the human body!?

Pole is so much a part of my life that if a employer were to turn me down for it, I wouldn't want to work at them anyway. I can't work somewhere where I can't be open about my life. Depends on what field you're in though. I know people who are teachers or work in govt or with the military that can get in trouble for it.

Though I'm not in a field where there are concerns about my personal life, I know of people who keep that part of themselves guarded. A lot of them are doctors, lawyers, CEOs, where they find it necessary to keep their pole life private. I think it really depends on what you decide to go into when you decide what career path you want and if you choose to keep it to yourself or be open about it.

Im studying to become a doctor, and Im 100% open about pole. Everyone at my university knows that I pole, even some of the teachers and they where all curious about it in a very positive way. I upload my pole pics everywhere, and Im not worried. Should a patient ever turn me down, because he/she has seen me online, is OK with me. The only reason none of my videos are on youtube, is because I dont think Im good enough on my pole, and youtube can be ruthless with comments, so I like to be here, where everyone is so nice an encouraging. If I were you, I would do it.. If its a part of you, then dont hide it 🙂

I'm a nurse and for the longest time it was never an issue. I got a new job working for a religious institution and suddenly it became an issue.  I deleted my youtube because of it.  I never thought I'd be one of those people working at a job where it was a problem that I pole danced for my gym activities.  My boss was really open with me and told me she personally did not think it was a problem but she wasn't so sure how others in the company would feel and wanted me to know that my youtube channel link was emailed to her by an administrator.  How they found it is beyond me and she said she had no idea where they came across it.  The whole ordeal just turned out to be creepy and I decided it was in my best interest to eradicate my channel's existence.

My father came across my videos and was extremely disappointed and didn't like what he saw.  I don't think he looks anymore and I decided that I would only post family approved videos on my fb page and have trained him to look there for videos but I still get worried and paranoid now.  It depends on what you post though, I have some raunchy videos.  Not that I am ashamed of them but when your dad calls you because he found a video of you grinding on the floor – an uncomfortable conversation ensues, not one I enjoyed and it did leave me feeling bad.  I don't even pole under my real name and he still found it.

I usually don't talk about my pole dancing (I don't think it would hurt me if I did, but still I just don't) with collegues but I've been on youtube now for three years. On facebook I never put pole pictures as profile- or cover pic but I use a lot of my flexibility stuff for them instead. Possibly some collegues are curious and check out my profile and cover pictures and if they look who are the likers etc they will find a few people "on the pole" among these and maybe understand/suspect that I also pole. Who knows? But since it's such a big thing in my life I don't care.

I think that earlier it must have been very difficult to just find me on youtube (in case anyone suspected that I pole dance) if they didn't know exactly how to search to find my vids, but nowadays it's enough to search for "lina pole dance" and a whole row of my videos turn up on the front page. Quite easy, but so be it:). Haha, maybe the whole department is sitting there watching me spinning and doing flex training but no one dares to say anything since they would feel like lurkers if they did;).

With other words, I've had no problems due to youtube but I should add that I'm in a non-religious country which may matter a bit.
