Powder coat making my hands sweaty??
Posted by Angie La on April 4, 2014 at 10:51 pmI’ve never had sweat hands… It seems unusual that my powder coated (SV pole) makes my hands sweat. Any one have this problem? I have ss platinum stages in my studio and have had chrome xpoles in the past. Only had my PC for a month. Any tips??

I’ve only have sweaty hands in the summer in Vegas, but not often. Try mighty grip worked great for me. Also what have you been cleaning your pole with?

I will try that! Dry hands makes it impossible for spins… I use alcohol bc that is all I have ever used to clean my poles. Should I use something else?

They’ve said NEVER use alcohol on this pole. I also found it made the pole kinda slick, and they say it will dull the finish!! So NO alcohol!! I don’t use anything most of the time, just a dry clean cloth works on this pole. If the pole needs a good cleaning I use steam or windex if I’m in a hurry. Mighty grip doesn’t make my hands too grippy for the pole, but that’s just me.

There does seem to be something about powder coating that can exacerbate sweaty hands. Have you tried Dirty Girl Poletice, Angie? You put it on your hands like a mask, let it dry, and then rinse off. It works really well. Another reason I love it is that I don’t like to use grip aids on the PC (I do use them on my chrome) because it makes spins pretty near impossible for me. Like Veena said, Window cleaner (like Windex) only on the PC.

Ok! Thank you for the tips!!!! No alcohol and only a dry towel. I actually got a jar of poletice in a goodie bag and gave it away thinking I would never use it… I do have mighty grip 🙂 I never used it until I saw your mighty grip and tips, had the bottle for years that a friend have me. I thought the bottle was white 😉 now I know it’s clear, lol. I haven’t gotten to use my SV pole much, so I’m glad I haven’t been dousing it in alcohol everyday–yikes!
