    Hello ladies,
I know there may already be threads that relate to the problem I have but, I’ve spent time looking and can’t seem to find an answer. So my question is this- I have an old top loading (7yrs+) 50mm Chrome X-pole and it lives in my garage/makeshift studio. Over the winter I didn’t think about protecting it from the cold and In certain areas of the pole, bubbling and rust has started to appear 🙁 Its still usable (a little rough in places) but I’m concerned that this will continue to worsen especially as its getting closer to winter again. I looked at the idea of powder coating a while back for grip issues but now I’m thinking that it will help preseve my pole from the elements and getting any worse which may mean it would last longer. I have hyper-hydrosis so sweaty hands has always been a problem for me anyway. I’m thinking it may help kill two birds with one stone, so to speak! Please help?!

I think if u lightly sand off the rust, use some rustoleium spray paint and primer and spray the pole, it will be cheaper. I pained mine copper color and love the grip as well. U can see my pole in current videos.

In my opinion, as a painter, I would not recommend using any spray paint on your pole. paint from spray cans are low quality in my experience. I am very happy that Lyme had good results, but I would not do such a thing unless I could afford another pole in the event d.I.y. painting it gives you bad results. having your pole professionally powder coated seems like a better choice

Take a rusted piece into a powder coater and see if they can sand off the rust before coating it???

I know some friends who own a powder coating company, and you can totally do that to your pole! It will change the grip completely though, it will be much hard to spin on, but easier for static movements.

The Lil Mynx company sells poles already coated.
