I had my brass powder coated clear. It tdidnt help the grip ne bit, matter of fact my pole came back with a crack in the end! I had a chrome that is lightly sanded and spray painted it copper….it cost a few dollars and I had the best of both world with that grip!!! U can see it n some of my earlier videos…..

so u think normal spray painting it helps it…? i m so confused everyone says powder coating is too grippy that it rips legs and stuff
-
Yes…spray painting help mine a ton! And it isn’t as grippy as powder coating…..like a LM. Give it a try….if u don’t like it, then get PC…..it will cost u about 100 dollars, but spray paint is only a few dollars. And like I said, for me, powder coating didn’t help at all! Maybe because it was clear??? Nor sure, but it was just as slick!

hmmmm yeah i ll keep thinking bout what i want to do its hard maybe i ll just stick with stainless steel for a while :S no idea

Is it hard? Heck no, bring it out side and spray the sucker….I think I did two coats! 🙂

What type of spray paint did you use? Glossy, matte, regular paint, or enamel?

Hi Crystal29,
Some of the girls at the studio i go to uses Nelson Sports Dry Hands for sweaty hands. This link will take you to the product on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Nelson-Sports-Products-Dry-Hands/dp/B00476MDU8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1375789542&sr=8-8&keywords=x-pole

hey thanks for the tips guys and I already use dry hands grip aids but i usually reapply it five million times lol

Have you tried tite grip? It is an antiperspirant.
Powder is grippy if you have normal dewy warm skin. However if you have very sweaty hands it will not help and may be one of the worst as the powder coating has very low porosity leaving nowhere for the moisture to go.

Changing finishes won’t usually help people with sweaty hands. There is no perfect finish for sweaty hands. Try gloves or what chem suggested. I’m not normally sweaty but when it’s hot in Vegas I find I can grip the SV pole better and longer without having to wipe it than my Titanium or chrome. But I’m not typically a sweaty person.

Try dirty girl poletice or tite grip. Its what helps for my sweaty hands. My best combo for sweaty hands is dirty girl poletice with dry hands. And taking a magnesium supplement helps too.

I'm sure the sweating issue is very real for you… it is for me. But honestly, worrying about it makes it worse, and you can be sweaty and still be a good poler.
I sweat a LOT. Like, I soak through clothes when I run. I occasionally slip and fall on my yoga mat because the sweat is pouring down my body. There is no point in blow drying my hair in the summertime, because I'll sweat faster than my hair can can dry. It's that bad.
I also struggled with sweaty hands and body while poling, and tried everything to solve it. Some things didn't work, other things only worked some of the time. But I also realized that my issue was a combination of sweat and lack of grip strength. I ended up buying a second pole in a stickier finish and smaller size, which helped a lot. I still slip when sweating a lot and I do have to wipe down the pole a lot, but I'm progressing and getting stronger.
I recently sold my first pole (chrome 50) and I helped the new owner set it up for the first time. When I went to test the pole for stability, I surprised myself. Even though I was sweaty, I had as much grip on the chrome 50 as I do on my TG 45 because I'd built up some more strength in my hands. Keep practicing, you may find that your sweat problems will never go away, but your grip problems do.
On really bad days, I like using the Mighty Grip tacky gloves. You can always get a pair and use them to train, and your grip strength will improve even while using the gloves.
