Power plates does anyone use them alongside pole workout?
Posted by vickiezoo on May 21, 2011 at 12:17 pmI have recently been trained as an instructor for power plates, it is all fairly new to me. I was wondering if any one uses them at all, I am going to start using them in pole classes, for stretching and cool downs as they are in the studio I teach at. I am putting together a program for myself focussing on back flexibility, splits and core. I also wanted to share this part of my splits program as it may be helpful to other polers.

This is a fantastic splits stretch and you can feel your split increasing as you are on the plates. Anyway I would bve interested to hear anyone elses thoughts on the power plates..https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Hey! They look really cool. I've never heard of them before. What do they do, do they shake or rumble or something? I checked out the pics, looks really awesome, what else are they used for?

Hiya Andy D they have a load of uses and benefits that have been scientifically tested. They can increaes muscle mass with quicker results that a conventional workout, using them also increases blood flow which in turn can aid healing for sports injuries, arthritis, they can also help tone muscles and improve flexibility, they increase bone mineral density and help to decrease cellulite and encourage lymphatic drainage. They are a certified medical device and they work by you standing on the vibrating plate, frequency starts at 30 Hz (times per second) so the workout you do on the plate is made hardder by the fact that it is vibrating but it is also contracting your muscles 30 x a second, because of thie workouts should be around 25 mins only. Yuo can workout whatever part of your body you wish EG upper body, abs etc, they also have an amazing massage setting for at the end of a workout.
Hope that has explained a bit more for you Andy.

hey vickiezoo!!
Thanks so much. That totally clarifies that for me! Sounds amazing I would love to use them!! How long have you been using them for? How long have you been poling for? And any other info about yourself!!

Hey Vickiezoo,
What a great idea! I have a BSlimmer Power Plate at home and just love it. I use it as a toner, warm up, cool down and as a massager. It is very versatile.
My question is, how can I use it to stretch on if I only have one? Any ideas?
Thanks x

Hey Pollypole1
I use a single for stretching, only use the two for splits. You can stand on plate and lift one leg up and rest against the handle keeping them straight and push into it, or the same but turn your hips and body to the side for a side split stretch. 🙂 -
I have been selling whole body vibration machines for the past five years and have found the machines are good just about for any type of exercise and to build muscle quickly and still retain flexability.
I have sold machines to every age group from 18 to 80 and depending upon the position one uses on the machine it can be used as a warm up, cool down, or anything inbetween.
I am sorry to say that I am no longer handling them as I found they were just to heavy for me to handle. I'm no "spring chicken". We do have a few left of the smaller versions (no handles) that can be used for warm ups or for stretching. Just remember they are fairly heavy, even the smaller ones so have some one help you receive it and put it where you want to use it. Also a wood floor or sold floor is best for placement. Putting them on a rug could be a problem.
If you want any information about them, as there are different styles of vibration please send a note along and I will be happy to explain.

Hi Andy D i have been poling for 3 and a half years now, the studio i instruct at has just got power plates so I have only been using them a few weeks. How long have you been poling?
