I recently asked Veena this question and this is the low down of what she said to me:

If you have never poled before then now isn't the best time to start, or if your super new to poling. 🙂

First trimester: nothing much changes but you shouldn't learn anything too tricky, stay with things you know. Your body will start to produce "relaxin" and some women find that their joints become uncomfortably loose, so spins are not advisable if that is a problem for you. I didn't have a problem with it.

Second trimester: no more inverts, my mid wife said it was ok but I stopped once I started to show.

Third trimester: I kept is simple and worked on flow and transitions, with a focus on pretty hands and feet. I did a few modified spins where I kept my legs lower instead of lifting my knees to my chest. This kept pressure off the abs.

I found out a few weeks ago I was pregnant with my 2nd! My daughter is only 9months! I have mixed feelings, Very excited but bit sad about pole and losing my body again lol

    Congrats if your expecting! =)

I'm currently on my 38th week of pregnancy.  I believe you could safely do some sort of poling throughout a pregnancy, but honestly I just didn't feel like it anymore after the first trimester.  I'm sure everyone is different though.  I decided to let myself be okay with taking a hiatus and I plan to slowly get back into it after I give birth.  It's hard to find a cut and dry answer, because I don't think a lot of doctors are familar with the body mechanics used in poling.  I think your body will kind of let you know what is right for you.  For example, in the early weeks I was still doing headstands and stuff, but I sure wouldn't be attempting that now with my uterus being so large and my center of gravity being off.

I am 8 weeks pregnant and aside from the miserable cold I caught from my son I feel the same as ever. I am just going to play it by ear.

I poled with Baby #2 up until about 36 weeks when I was more just walking around in circles because I couldn’t even pirouette under my arm with bump in the way….I stayed at a very basic beginners level since I hadn’t been poling all that long anyways…Ive been blessed with very healthy and boring pregnancies so I didn’t have any medical restrictions and it was really helpful to stay active. I gained 75 lbs with my first and with pole & other better choices I only gained about 30lbs with the second. I found L&D easier too because I had a strong core pre-pregnancy & kept up my activity throughout.

Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. Each woman is different, just like each pregnancy is different. Don’t let anyone scare you out of something you love because they don’t understand but using a little bit more caution & common sense should go without saying….And above all – ENJOY IT !
