Preparation to start pole helps sure but is not really necessary. What makes pole great is that even those who have no exercise background, can do it because you build your strength as you learn pole. However, I’ve found that cardio helps with my stamina & endurance on the pole and if I don’t do cardio consistently (at least 2-3x a week), my stamina definitely suffers. I also do some light strength training at home: pull ups, push ups, planks, core exercises, pole drills, elbow/forearm stands but I am not diligent with it (which I am working in) but every little bit of effort helps.
But in all honesty, you really have to play around with different regimens to find out what works for YOU, everyone’s different & what works for one person might not work for you.
