Oh wow…I’m having the same issue, *plus* I’ve got a few scrapes where the main pole A is supposed to connect to B. I’ve written Heydi from X-pole, and am anxious to hear what she has to say. Other than that, I’m SUPER relieved to hear it’s not me (I always thought *I* messed it up), and that it’s a product issue.

I still think the xpert is great. I have had many issues at first with the shifting xjoints..but once i realized i had to, what i thought was over tighten them, I have never had a problem since. Its just you have to make SURE to get those extra tight.

I’m a wee bit wary too, Lorraine, but I think I’m still going to risk it. I’ve moaned about my (old style) A and B poles getting stuck together and the chrome flaking off the adjuster cover but it’s taken a lot of abuse and still works well most of the time – and I don’t tend to complain about that so much!

& That’s good to hear, Megs! I’ve been paranoid about overtightening my existing pole so I’ll have to bear that in mind if/when I’m setting up a new one.

My only issue with my Xpert is that I wish I had gotten the chrome instead of TG. I love the style of the pole. It’s soooo easy to take apart to move. That is if you actually take it apart and don’t do like me and try to move an 8 foot pole in a tiny car and bust out the window. No as far as the pole itself. XPert is def. the way to go.

I’ve purchased the xpole (xpert) recently and when I took it down I realized that the dome has made marks on my ceiling like shown in the picture. Does anyone know why or have experienced this?

is that the center of where the dome lies?? It kinda looks like the pole pushed it against the ceiling, maybe over tightening?..I really don’t know. If you do get an answer about it please post again so we all can see okay?

yea it is from the center of the dome I think. I don’t know if over tightening it or not but if I don’t then the pole moves. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I’m having the same problem with the xjoint shifting away from the hex hole. It’s annoying. It’s only the top pole that is used most often with spins and stuff and where all the pressure is when doing them. I am not having problems with any of the other holes and joints. I have not tried to get it apart yet. I guess I should start before it gets worse!

Hi everybody, have the ones who had problem with off-centered x-joints finally managed to solve them? Has the broom-pushing solution worked out? Please, let me know, I bought my xpert in july, i took it down this morning to clean it but I can’t undo Btube. I’ve spent so much money, kind of desperation…
    Please let me know something.

another question: if you managed to undo jammed xjoint have you been able to re-use it or have you bought a new one?

Just wanted to throw my two cents in.

My Xjoint spun completely past the hole (but just past it) – for the record it had never made noises or felt loose or unsafe. I decided to do something about it today. I did not have a metal rod for the "knocking method" recommended by X-Pole so I had an idea that I thought might work and it did..

I used those grippy cloths you get at the super market for opening twist lid cans – they are little cloths with a slight plastic coating, they are about $0.99 for 2, and an adjustable wrench.

(This is actually the method Empy mentioned earlier in the thread but I thought the visual might help.)

I put one cloth on the pole, one on the X-joint, and held the pole steady with my hand while I twisted the X-joint with the wrench (see photo). This got me most of the way there.

Then I swallowed my pride (lol – I would much rather be super woman and fix everything myself) and had my husband come hold the pole with two hands and I twisted the wrench with two hands, and then we got the hole perfectly lined up again.

Loosened the x-joint, popped it off, put it back in, and then retightened.

This time I twisted one, then the other, and then again like I had before.. except I repeated the process until the hex key actually bowed… and then I even tried some more. I really really tightened those guys since apparently, based on the comments in this thread, there is no such thing as overtightening.

Pole’s back up and feels as solid as ever. I will report back if there is any more spinning, or with any tips on routine maintenance. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Thanks ladies for all the great info in this thread! I noticed last night that my xjoint between A and B was twisted on the B pole (not all the way but close!) I found this thread this morning and started to take it apart to do the broom trick and noticed that my extension xjoint was also twisted. That one I was able to tweak back and take apart. I used the broom trick on the B pole and the joint popped right out! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
now i can put the pole back up and actually spend some time with it ( https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_santa.gif holiday!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rendeer.gif ).
