It is best to get one with both options as at some point in time you will probably want to try spinning.

I agree, I would get a pole that has both.

Yup, I agree, a pole with both.  I will admit I don't use spin mode much, but it's nice to have when I want to "dabble" with it if even for a little while.

I hope you don’t mind me chiming in. I consider myself to be a beginner still and while my studio doesn’t use spin mode, I was encouraged to get a spinning pole in the event that I wanted to go further in my pole training.

I’m glad that I did, even if spinning on it makes me dizzy.

I have a chance to buy an xtreme pole Platinum  that does both…But I want to know if the xpole is better then this one? Is this a good pole? I would love to hear your opinions…But when I actully purchase I want a good safe pole…

Both x pole and platinum stages have good and bad traits. If you go to purchase the used platinum stages pole, just make sure all the pieces fit together flush with eachother and that there are no rough edges. I had cases with both platinum stages and x pole where the pieces didn't fit together properly. You will want a metal lube for the PS multi piece though, to keep the pieces from getting stuck. Also, are you dead set on the size of the used pole? Most of the time I see people selling the 50mm poles, and those are the widest diameter poles come in. Sometimes, short girls, and girls with small hands struggle on a 50 (like me.) 45s, 40s, and 38s are better in that case, but 50s are good for taller girls with larger hands.

Also, I don't see a celining plate in the photo of the platinum stages pole…is there one with it, cuz there SHOULD be!

There is a base plate (which is in the p[icture) that is about 5-6 inches round and then a ceiling plate that is about 12 inches round.

    Base Plate:

Ceiling Plate (without the S Factor logo….I could not get to the PS page from work): http://shop.sfactor.com/mm5/graphics/00000001/P2001.jpg

Well Thank you for letting me know this..You might of saved me from being ripped off!!   I wrote the girl back and told her what you said about two plates being in the box…She never returned my email..I almost picked this pole up from her last week but found I did not have the money!! She wants 200 bucks for it and she said it was brand new never used..But then she tells me she greased the tubes so they would come apart easy?? She also then told me she never put it up because she had vau;lted ceilings and never got the mount..But originally it was never used because she moved and had no room to put it up..She was talking to me until I said something about the other plate..So……..Thank you….Hopefully she is honest and she just has not gotten back to me?? Looks like I am buying a pole from here to make sure I get a good one..I already have the price..

There is a layer of nubbed silicone between the dome and the ceiling to help with "gription".
