  • Question for all European Studio Veeners!

    Hi everyone!

I am from Australia, but I am heading over to Europe for a 4-6 month holiday in April (very exciting!) I can't bear the thought of not being on the pole for that amount of time so I'm hoping for some advice from the european crowd on places to pole. At the moment, i'm heading to the UK, Turkey (which appears to be sadly lacking in pole studios), Greece, Spain, possibly France and Italy depending on my time. I know this is quite a broad range of places so it's a bit difficult to give general advice but if anyone has specific recommendations/warnings, that would be fantastic.

Also, if there were any Veeners out there who wanted to meet up if I was there in their city and have a pole jam that would be amazing (please please please!) I would be so excited to meet you guys in RL. I'm an instructor at Polarise in Australia and i've also trained at Bobbi's and a few other studios so hopefully I would have things to share.

Hope to hear back from some of you!

Hi Nicki, I only know of a couple of pole studios. Think you may know Amber Ray? She teaches at Milan pole dance studio and I heard that's good…

In London there's Elena Gibson, think her studio is just called Pole Dance School or something? In Paris there's Laurence Hilsum, not sure if she owns a studio or teaches at a school there but she's worth learning from!

I'm in Manchester and we have pole jams twice a week, my teacher's Karen Chaundy. It would be cool to meet you!!

I know that Czech Republic is not on your list but in case you find yourselves in Brno, I'm sure that Citadela Mefisto studio would welcome you with open arms. It's the coolest studio ever and the girls/teachers are really sweet, it's more of a community than a pole dancing school. 🙂

Hey NickiLee! I own a pole studio in Athens Greece, & would absolutely love to meet up with you, help you with your visit here, & of course jam with you at the studio!  Message me anytime, & please let me know at what point in your holdiay you think you'll be over here!   I might be away from June 6 til June 15, so i hope it won't be then!  :))

Thanks guys! That is an excellent start! I really appreciate your input. I'm hoping that some of the pole studios will be open to having drop ins 🙂

azriel – I'll send you a message and let you know what I'm planning! that would be the most exciting thing ever!

pavi – the czech republic isn't on my list atm, but I have very flexible travel dates and potentially I might be in europe longer so it's always possible that I might make it there. it sounds like you have a lovely supportive school.

ollie – Manchester could be quite a possibility! I have checked out elena gibson's studio, it looks amazing. She's so flexible. I'm very jealous. I've seen Karen's videos, she's such a good performer.

    Hi there!!!

If you come to Paris here are some studios  you can go to:

Spin with me, the owner is Doris Arnold

    http://www.spinwithme.fr/

Pink School, if you do go there ask for Laurence Hilsum or Manuela Carneiro, I don't know the other instructors but Laurence won Pole Art 2010  and a bunch of other competitions , Manuela came 2nd at the European championship.

Laurence Hilsum does give classes at a dance school but you have to apply at the beginning of the year and I'm not sure you can just go to a couple classes. I would have to ask her. She is hilarious and you would definetly have a great time with her. I train with her and looooove her style.

Glam Fit Academy the instructor is Manuela Carneiro, never trained with her but she has an amazing style, she's so gracious and impressive, she's so tiny and yet so strong.

Artstrip school, they are opening up again in April in a brand new location with brand new 4m high poles! Yay!

You can find all of these girls on youtube if you don't know them. If you need any info, help with the french, whatever, I'll be happy to help!
