  • Question on cleaning grungy heels.

Posted by Arcsis on December 13, 2015 at 7:56 am

I’ve been poling for awhile now, & wanted to try it in heels. I found a used pair of Pleaser Sky 308’s on ebay for $16 shipped. If I hate it, I’m not even out $20. If I love it, I’ve saved enough to just get some new ones next time. ;P The soles & platform look to be in good condition, but the insoles are grungy.

    Any protips?

When my heels get dirty , I wet them under the faucet and use a toothbrush and soap to scrub them. Rinse them really well and let them air dry. You run the risk of the glue weakening and the inside of the shoe separating from the sole. I’ve done it twice on my heels and they are ok but it is still a risk . I didn’t care because my shoes were so dirty that i was ready to throw them away. They are now pretty clean. Couldn’t completely remove all the stains but they smell and look better. The platforms were scratched so I glittered them.

Don’t laugh but I use the “zest” part of a grater. Yup, just a good old veggy/cheese grater from walmart. The stains are in the callous so if you get rid of the callous you get rid of the dirty look. I use a pumice stone if my heels aren’t too bad. Soak in the tub then when you get out go after those heels with your choice of tool. Then put a heavy moisturizer on your heels and a pair of cheep socks overnight. Nice, clean, soft heels.

hehe! SToast I think she is talking about cleaning the actual shoes not her feet. 🙂 but yeah, I have tough feet and could totally use a zester on my feet!
