RIP Toby
We had to have our Toby put down today. I had written an earlier post about trying to make the decision. Well, he collapsed in the yard today after having a pretty good morning. The vet came to the house and took him back to the office for tests and it was confirmed that his lungs were full of fluid, and he had a stomach disorder. His breathing was labored, on top of that he has myelopy (sp?) of the legs which would take over the rest of his nervous system. He was almost gone when they reached the office so she put him on something to sedate him and make him comfy until my daughter got there. Ahhh….today is my wedding anniversary as well! You know, I feel at peace and sad. I feel we did all that we could, from the expensive surgery to toting him to and from the yard and many other things. I am ok…rite now, but my older girl is having a hard time. We got him when she was 9 and she is 24. At least he is okay now….rest in peace dear Toby.

I'm so sorry, that is such a hard thing to have to go through. My husband recently lost his two childhood dogs within 6 months of each other. It was really rough for him. He's only 2 years older than your daughter. *hug* I'll say a little prayer for Toby and your family <3

I am so very sorry you lost a loved member of your family today. From a place of love and compassion you did everything in your power to enable Toby to transition peacefully and with loved ones near. Sending my respectful well wishes for you and your family.

I know how you feel. I went through this 10 months ago, my dog Ruby was put to sleep. Rest In Peace darling x

So sorry to hear that! Just a few weeks ago I had to put my pet of 15 years down and it was one of the hardest things I had to do. It is very understandable that she is having a hard time with it but fortunately with each day it does get easier.

Oh, bummer. But you did the right thing, and Toby is now at peace. I really believe we will see our beloved pets in the afterlife.
