I was researching stand alone poles and came across the R pole 38″ from the uk. Now I live in Canada- does any one know how good these poles are and if they ship across seas? Thanks!

I have seen them but they are EXTREMELY expensive!!  For CD you will be looking at 1196 at today's exchange rate for the one with a mat (which you want), and that is without shipping.

The one thing about these is that they do not have a stage and you pretty much have to use  mat.  I don't know if you ahve ever tried dancing on a mat but it is not easy.  Without the mat you have the spines of the base that you will trip over or possibly come down on.

yeah I wouldn't want one because of the having to use a mat, but I like to dance in heels. If your more of a pole fit type person and less a pole dance in heels type person they would be ok. I do like that you can take it to the beach and put it in the sand, but I have no beach around here lol.

Thanks ladies!! Yes- I want a mat one- I too like my heels :). I also have very small hands and I have tried a 2″ and no go!! So the x stage is out… Which means PS star however I’ve been told many bad things about the older models. I’ll be looking at the 45″ brass. Grrr I wish their were more choices!!!

R pole have hard bases too, I think you have to buy them separately though. They’re very stable and good quality.

They also do an r-pole play which is cheaper and also very stable, we managed to do some doubles tricks on one although they are only really meant for 1 person. No idea about shipping to Canada I’m afraid. X
