Recommended weekly schedule?
Posted by Aisling88 on January 27, 2012 at 11:35 amHi everyone!
I'm really looking to improve my pole dancing and was just wondering if anyone has ideas or suggestions of a good weekly training schedule?
I currently have pole classes every thursday & have my own pole at home too…
Should i concentrate on spins one day/strength the next?
Any suggestions would be ace : )
Thanks, Aisling xxx

That looks like a good plan! If you find that you’re staying sore as in not recovering, you may have to rest more. Just make sure you’re eating and sleeping well. 😊

Yay! Yes, if I’m staying sore I will probably use one of those flexibility training days as an extra rest day. It’s always leg day that hurts the most for me after, so I made sure a rest day followed lower-body. Thank you!

That sounds good, you could also add flexibility on to the end of a workout day, if time allowed!

What do you plan on doing for your lower body and upper body workouts? Also, when you say “pole”, what are you doing? I have so much trouble figuring out how to add “pole stuff” to my daily runs (I usually run 6-7 miles 6x a week). I am thinking of making a schedule like you did, I just have no clue how to put it together!

I was thinking pole days would include a warm up, working on mastering pole moves I’ve already learned or learning new ones, strength training and conditioning with upper/lower body/core depending on the day, and ending with light stretching to go along with what I just strength trained. For what specifically I would do in workouts, I would reference Veena’s videos for sets/reps to do.

For upper and lower body days you’ll find routines in the routine section here. 😊

Thank you! Yeah, I was wondering if you were going to continue using Veena’s workouts for your upper and lower body or if you were figuring out all new workouts/moves. On days you are working on pole moves, how long do you usually work on moves? I like the way you set up for schedule, so I am probably just going to use yours with a few tweaks! Also, thanks for responding so quickly Kay and Veena!

I’m following this discussion. I am almost thought the 30 day refresher and I want a consistent pole schedule. My problem seems to be that when I write it all down, it seems like so much! I only have so much time in a day lol! I can’t seem to fit in everything I want to do.
-
I think even if you have an hour, you could fit it in. 5-10 min warm up, 30 min pole session, 10-15 min strength training, and round it out with a few stretches. I worry about time as well because in a few weeks I will be working as well as taking online college classes.

I think I could fit it all in if it’s just pole. But I also want to incorporate flexy training and hula hoop. I think that’s my issue lol!
