You know, it took me well over a year to really find my balance and strength in my core to not hold “stands” arched. Working on my over all core awareness, like what I’ve shared in the Veena’s tips really made a change for me. I use to not be able to walk very far because I had such terrible pain in my hips and now I walk, and walk with no pain! It was like magic! I never had pain when dancing or stretching just walking, I tried to watch my foot placement, knees, hip rotation all kinds of stuff and nothing would help. All I had to do was be aware of my pelvis and low back, and condition them every time I work out., pain free. I’m not saying that is your issue, but it really takes so much time and consistent practice where balance is concerned, at least for me, it did not come easily despite how fast pole work comes for me.

I find it really hard though not to arch your back when your legs are gripping the pole and your arms are down at a distance. I just can’t get over this hurdle. 🙁

Hey newschik, My shoulders don’t like that trick, it’s one of those “not every pole move is right for every body” things 🙂

Veena, I feel like you *may* have done a very similar lesson but I can’t find it… If not that might be a fun one to break down…
But I just favorited and added a few other quick lessons to my to-do list, so no pressure… I have PLENTY to work on!

New request; reiko spilt – one foot on pole..,,other foot trying to come to pole to hook at knee or more. Arm position seems to vary and I’m curious as to your take on it. Thanks Veena!
