I am having trouble doing the reverse grab on spining mode. I always feel like I’m going to loose my grip – therefore loose my confidence. Can anyone give me advise please? (By the way I can rock this move out on static.)

Yes I had that problem too, but not anymore. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif A few tips:

    – As you are not so confident in this move, try to make the swin not to fast, just to get the right feeling back. When you walk around your pole and then swing, you may go too fast. What you may want to do to practice the folowing first:
your dominant hand on the pole, your body a bit back (like one step) from the pole. your left hand is on your back and turn your hand so that your thumb is pointing down (may feel a bit odd). So you are already prepared to grab your pole, while you are swinging. Then step out with your right leg (your are next to your pole now), then step with left and swing your hips and your right leg in front of the pole to get some speed (while you do this try to grab the pole with the hand on the back) and as you have your hand on your back, ready to grab the pole, you have faster more grip, so you don’t have to hang on your dominant hand too long (not so much time to slip away). When you are more confident you can try it with more speed by walking around the pole.

    – keep your pole clean so it not slippery, use a all purpose cleaner and use a cloth to clean your pole
    – try some mighty grip on your hands (maybe a little rough or sticky, but that’s ok to increase confidence, you can do without when you are more confident)
    – try some tite grip if you have sweaty hands, for me it works ok, but I know a friend of mine uses it all the time.

Hope these tips will help you! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
    Good luck!
    xx Tamara

SimpllySweet is incredible at performing RGs on spin mode, even aerial. I haven’t succeeded at doing much good with this, but check out some of her videos. There’s a couple of aerial RGs at the beginning of this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9nxB4TRTHE&feature=sub

And then here’s another dealing primarily with aerial RGs on spin mode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZ-SGLXWwUA

I think it’s just amazing how she can do that. I wanna be like her!

I get into a reverse grab on spinny from a leg hook, like this:

I need to learn how to keep it going and spin around back up to the pole how Simply Sweet does!

Lily, I thought the way you did that was so pretty. I am going to try to do it that way when I have my next spinny practice.

That’s great! Well, I am sure that if you try it a few times you will get more confident and you will rock the reverse grab on the spinning pole too!! xx
