Yaaaayyy so I know it’s not alot to shout about but it’s a big deal to me! I’ve been working in the reverse caterpillar lately and just could not take my feet off te pole but tonight I managed to slide 1 leg up then after a few more attempts managed to shift both legs up 1 at a time, it’s small baby steps but it’s made me soooo happy!! Any other tips on this move would be greatly appreciated, also tips on sliding feet up from handstand position should chest be close to pole or not?? Yippee lol =)

One thing that really helped strengthen this move for me was how Pantera taught us.  When you are in an inverted crucifix place your hands between your boobs and push out away from the pole in a plank position.  From tehre use your hamstrings and legs to lift your but NOT your arms to push you up.  This makes this move a million times harder BUT does not fatigue your arms for when you need them.  Use the larger muscles, not the weaker.

Also, this is one move that a LOT of people have fallen out of when learning it.  USE A MAT.

I think Aerial Amy had a tutorial on this at some point in time, also.

    Yep…I was right: http://aerialamy.com/blog/2011/12/13/tuesday-tips-caterpillar/

I can caterpillar climb already but have just figured it out the opposite way so caterpillar climbing down the pole, you have to bodywave the opposite way and slide legs down instead if up; its cool and different!

I first saw that in a performance by Amber and I think Amy had a tip for doing it that way, too!
