What a GORGEOUS idea!!! I see a trip to Michael's for rhinestones and glue in my near future!!!
-
def love this look!!! What a great idea, thanks for sharing!

I love the look, I'd be more apt to do it to a pair of shoes I don't pole in because I'd be afraid of scratching the pole 🙁
-
and I just got a few coupons for Michaels when I bought my son a paint smock.
What about using some mod podge when its dry. I know it helped when I did my own glitter heels.

thanks for the link miss kitty! i'm glad you liked the blog =))
nymph, i did the backs of my heels because I don't use them when I'm on the pole, but you could also do the bottom of the sole.
mini, the E6000 is a SERIOUS heavy duty glue. the rhinestones absolutely don't budge when you apply pressure with a fingernail– it's an epoxy that actually binds with the plastic instead of sitting on top of it.

If you like the rhinestone shoe effect and live near L.A. I managed to purchase enough swarvoski crystals (well that's what they SAY they are – they have the official buy Swarvoski crystals here sign but eh, in the fashion district who knows?) to cover a set of shoes for $80.00…now if I could just manage to wrangle some time between work and school to do them!
After I finish the shoes, and verify that they are indeed enough (I talked with the gal who created the shoes for the window display) perhaps I could set up some kind of shopping service and run down and buy crystals for those who want to try this project. <3

GORGEOUSSS. I'm a big fan of embellishing my pole heels. I've glittered them, painted them blacklight-pink, and covered them with scrapbook paper like Veena did (unfortunately those didn't turn out quite as pretty as Veena's). I see a pair of custom rhinestone heels in my future!!

That’s a great idea!!! You just gave me another project that helps to keep my interest in poling 🙂

I soooooo want to try this!!!! Maybe glitter AND rhinestones???? Hmmmm….. I’ll get back to you ladies on how that works out

I know this post is a bit old already but has anyone covered the entire bottom of their heels? Does it hold up to all the dancing, shoe "clapping" and things like that? They look beautiful with everything covered and I really want to do them but I'm not sure if they will hold up.

WHere can you buy the flat back crystals???? I looked on ebay and did not see any flat backs.

Search for "swarovski flatback crystals" the size you want is anywhere from 12mm-20mm (or smaller) depending on how small or big you want the crystals. Lots of people mix the sizes so they can cover the entire surface. This is what I have my eye on:

Just an FYI – I haven't bought anything from this merchant yet so I'm not sure if they sell the real stuff. Their reviews are good though. I would suggest buying one pack to make sure first.

Lee, Hobby Lobby carries them. You can buy them loose in the jewelry section or you can find them with tacky backs in the scrapbooking section. I used the pink scrapbooking ones on my pink shoes.
Ugh, I thought I had pics here on SV….must have been in the DIY heels FB page.
