Maybe we could have a "Rock Out" challenge sometime, where we dance to our favourite rock songs?
I'm not really poling at the moment, my pregnancy is making me very nauseous and weak, but I just love watching other girls dance to rock music 🙂

Oh, I just realised Cleo did this awesome Steel Panther video!

They posted it on Twitter a while ago, but I didn't make the connection until now.

Rocker chick right here. I do love the slow, raunchy ones too! Check out #1 Crush (Original Edit) by Garbage. I'm working on my very first routine to this.

I'm not in general a rock music fan so I just try to go along with it when our freestyles in class end up being rock anthems. But taking a workshop with Cleo AND seeing Rock of Ages gave me a renewed appreciation for the cheesy bombast of 80s hair metal so every once in a while I enjoy just rocking out on the pole at home. A lot of the stuff like Puscifer, Disturbed etc are just not my cup of tea TBH. But I think its always cool to find something new in music that doesn't immediately move you 🙂

I love rockin' on the pole to heavy metal and rock and roll. My stamina is not that great, so I usually take it at half pace so I can keep breathing. 😛 Besides a ton of the bands that have already been mentioned I like Soundgarden, Rush, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin…the list goes on. 🙂

Some of my favorite songs to pole to are "Topless" by Breaking Benjamin, "Feel Like I Do" or "Tear Away" by Drowning Pool or "Bleeding Me" by Metallica. I think that any song that evokes an emotion within you is worthy of a little pole play. And for faster tempo music, there's no rule that you have to dance to every single beat. Sometimes it's fun to play with different rhyhms and accents in the music. Plus, I think it's super sexy when you slow the movement down and ride the music just behind the beat.

I LOVE the rock out challenge idea!!! let's do it!!!
Jessilee: I agree with you, metal is a lifestyle and it has to do with being true to yourself, thinking for yourself, always doing what you think it's right and never letting anyone tell you who to be or what to do. I just liked pole rockers page. (:
I'm excited to see some polers rock!! please make videos!!! I didn't know some of the bands you named…for example 5 finger death punch! I don't know anyone who listens to this band, I loved it! I knew if you named bands or songs I was going to find something new.

@Keex Cleo talked about dancing with the beat and behind it like you mention..Alethea usually does that since her style is more slow and controlled. I like to pic out my favorite parts of the song..and since I do like heavier..doesn't always mean the singing is, or bass playing are super fast. Anyway just about connecting and expressing.
Thanks @Ocusocus! I look forward to connecting and sharing more rock stuff with you all! I have my covers playlist I made last night! 🙂

My tastes vary from APC to Miranda Lambert. Ive done a few Slipknot songs and some James Brown as well. Im really into APC, I swear ive danced to most of thier songs. My BSB back video was The Noose by APC. Counting Bodies Like Sheep is my song at the gym, it totally gets me fired up.
For me if the song 'speaks' to me and seems workable, I will pole to it. Right im thinking about using 'Like A Boss' by Slim Thug for an upcoming competition.
